Punjab Food Corner — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Will never go again and will not recommend to anyone else. Broke the trust whatever I had on this restaurant and specially on owner. First incident happened couple of months ago. I ordered 1 pound of fish. I got home and the moment I opened the container it was appeared to be less so I measured it and it was only 0.830 Oz. I called the restaurant owner and he said that it was our mistake because we measure the fish before cooking. He assured me that they will fix it and will measure the cooked food after cooking not before. I trusted them. Oct 30th 2021, I ordered 2 pound of fish again. Got to restaurant and the moment I picked up my bag it felt like the weight is not 2 pounds. Anyway because I trusted the owner, I got home and the moment I opened the container it appeared to be less so I measured it and found out it was not 2 pound. One container it was 0.764 oz and second container it was 0.830 Oz. Total 1.594 and not even close to 2 pounds. Where did rest fish gone. I called the restaurant owner again and went back to drop the fish. He measured the one container in front of me, with box, and fish and onion inside it. It weight only 0.960 oz. Not even 1 pound with box n onion in it. He said we measure it before cooking and we put extra so that customer get full 1 pound. You stupid fish contains water and may be little bit of fat too. When you fry it it will loose water n fat. And at the end customer will not get full pound. That's how they make fool of there customers and make money. They charge full for 2 pounds or 1 pound but customer gets less. But nope. It didn't work that way. You suppose to weight after cooking not before. You dumb. Anyway I returned the fish back. He tried to gave me extra fish and even said plz take money back. No thank you. I don't need money back. You guys just ripping people off and making fool of them. Worst business ethics. No more trust and never go again. Worst restaurant. I don't even want to gave them 1 star. I had a terrible experience with this place on August 17, 2025, at 6:20 PM when I received my DoorDash order. My delivery was missing an item, and when I called to resolve it, the staff were extremely rude. They insisted everything was packed correctly and claimed they had a photo, even though the order was clearly incomplete. When I asked to speak with a manager, they dismissively told me they had two managers but neither was available. They even hung up on me once, saying they were “too busy.” Instead of taking responsibility, they told me to deal with DoorDash myself and then later on told me they will send the missing part with the next order if I ever order again. To make matters worse, I never received a refund and ended up paying full price for an order I never actually received. The customer service here is unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely lacking in accountability. Hanging up on a customer and refusing to help is unacceptable.

Update: After three phone calls, they finally sent me a picture of my order, and I even circled the missing item for clarity. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what truly matters is accountability and making it right—not dismissing the customer or implying...

I was extremely disappointed with the chicken tali platter that I ordered as a first and last time customer. The available meat was extremely sparse, full of bones and to top it off there were two chicken necks! Save this garbage for soup stock, don’t serve as a main course!! Additionally, the vegetable portion consisted of a chewy mess of dried okra, clumpy, unseasoned rice and I think what was supposed to be a salad, amounted to a mound of shredded iceberg lettuce that would find a better home on a Big Mac.

I drove out of my way to give this place a shot because it had high rating, waited 15 minutes longer than I should have(because they were late) and received a completely unsympathetic and perfunctory apology when I called to let them know that I got chicken neck rather than chicken meat! I normally wouldn’t take the time to write a review but their utter lack of care really struck a chord with me.
