Unfortunately there is no ZERO Stars option! Firstly service was so bad , nearly the servers were pushing us to order quick even though it was nearly after 5 minutes after being seated!!!!. Let me explain all the factors in detail although the most of the readers might have different opinions or differences. Food- Dabeli was really good.Bombay Chutney was out of character,Mysore Dosas were dosas were horrible as u can get! Dosas were simply lacked salt felt like eating paper, firstly please understand being colourful, paper like texture doesn’t make a Dosa. Real Dosas are which we can eat simply by itself without any curry,Dosas were simply large sheet of paper served in a fancy bowl.Sambhar was tasting vinegar not to mention flavourless. Coming to the real point- after we have done eating, after placing an order for take out earlier, we were just waiting for our food to arrive& cheque’s.severs starts cleaning up the table, then suddenly one of the server comes to us and ask us to move from the chair which I personally thought being people’s waiting they are going with cleaning and we were told to sit on the booth nearby! What the hell just happened we were literally kicked out of the seats for someone else even before our take out order was given and the cheque’s!!! This has been the most unruly behaviour we could face or expect from a restaurant staff!! They just seated some other customers in our seats after removing us!!! I felt we were racially profiled coz all others were there from their community and we were the odd ones out! How could this happen ever?is this the way to treat ur customers? Waiting people had to wait, firstly the seated customers were need to be settled fully then only u can seat the waiting customers!! Nothing more can be told, I just want to spread this misfortune we faced! NEVER EVER IN A ROYAL PAAN EVER...Those who feel the other way around I feel u r...

My recent visit to Royal Paan Restaurant left much to be desired, as it was marred by poor service and a lack of attentiveness to customer needs. Despite having enjoyed a positive experience on a previous occasion, this visit was a stark contrast.
From the outset, it was evident that communication was a challenge. The staff, particularly some of the waitresses who struggled with basic English, seemed confused and ill-equipped to handle customer inquiries. As someone with a serious allergy to onion and garlic, I took precautionary measures by informing them in advance and asking for recommendations on onion and garlic-free options. However, this request seemed to baffle them, leading to a series of misunderstandings.
The pinnacle of frustration came when a dish I ordered, specifically emphasized to be free of onion, arrived with a large onion ring prominently placed atop. Despite pointing out the oversight, the waitress initially denied any mistake until we physically showed her the offending ingredient. Only then did she offer a tepid apology.
Adding insult to injury, the wait for our food stretched to an exasperating 1.5 hours amidst the chaos of misplaced orders and confused staff. The lack of organization and efficiency further compounded the negative experience.
While the restaurant's ambiance retained its regal charm, the subpar service overshadowed any redeeming qualities. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in quality from a previously enjoyable establishment.
In conclusion, my recent visit to Royal Paan Restaurant was a disappointing one, marked by poor communication, indifferent service, and a disregard for customer needs. It's my hope that the management takes heed of these shortcomings and implements necessary improvements to restore the restaurant's former reputation...
Read moreFirst and foremost, Food was amazing and delicious. We ordered two dosa, dahi kachori puri, masala chai, rabri falooda, shahi kachori. Shahi kachori was too much hot, when we told the waitress, she didnt care and didnt replace it, She charged us even though we didnt eat it. This restaurant has underestimated the power of service. Waitress was not happy to be serving, felt like she was there just for paycheck and play with her phone. I hope this restaurant get better waitresses trained on customer service and happy to be serving.
Different incident but worth mentioning: In December I called in this restaurant for a reservation. I and my family (including a toddler, pregnant wife, and elderly person) drove 40 minutes to reach this restaurant from south winnipeg. It was bitterly cold outside and inside, apparently their heat furnace was broken since morning. Nobody told me when I was making a reservation, nobody gave a courtesy call after I made reservation. There was no way we could sit and eat in so low temperature therefore we left for another restaurant. Tried to reach out to owner but owner and manager both were on holidays of two months in Vancouver (are you kiding me). never received any call from manager or owner. I will not be surprised if this place close in few months. Definitely not hoping for it to close but please...
