The Crusty Bun — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I‘ve been a customer of this place for many years. I often talk with friends about their high quality of products that reminds us of the European bakeries back home. Today amongst other cakes and bread i bought a bee sting cake and when I looked at the tray I had the feeling that the two pieces in the corner weren’t part of the rest and not as fresh as the others. I kindly asked if the server could grab a different one and she assured me they were all the same. When I got home I realized it wasn’t. The top was very dry and tasteless and I’m very disappointed not only with the server that wasn’t honest with me but also with myself for not trusting my guts. I consider myself fortunate to live within walking distance of a bakery that is owned and operated by people with a serious passion for bread baking. The nice array of pastries are also quite good, although I find some of them to be wanting a bit more sweetness (and I've tried at least 2/3 of their selection). The reason I'm​ a return customer is their bread. I recommend getting there early, not just to enjoy bread that still has the warmth and crispness from its recent exit from the oven, but to beat the rush -- when the tables are full of customers who are dining in and there is a queue of people waiting to place their order, the staff can seem...

The food was delicious, hence the two stars. Some of the staff were unaccommadating and unfriendly. What really gave this experience a sour taste was being harassed and stared at by another customer with no manners. The experience got to be such that we became extremely uncomfortable and left. Other nearby customers were sympathetic and also felt disturbed by this particular patron's behaviour. We left with grace as this person was a senior, who I am sure would wish to be treated with respect but unfortunately was unable to do likewise. If we were to return we would expect better a...
