Quan Ju De was on the lips of any Beijingers... but after some research 四季民福 came up tops for being highly-rated. Visited the eatery at Dongcheng on Day 1 of my Beijing trip. There are a few other outlets, but this was nearest to my hotel and within walking distance to Wangfujing. Prices will not break the bank but definitely above average to the locals. Average waiting time is usually 2 hours. Do take a queue number upon arrival and one can sit outside the restaurant to wait for one's turn. Can help yourself to free flow of warm tea while waiting But I managed to beat the system - I showed up for a late lunch at around 2.30pm. Was ushered in at around 3.15pm. Peking roast duck is a must try, costs ¥159 for half a duck, with additional costs for the pancakes and sides. Before slicing the duck, the master will briefly show the whole duck and slice the piping hot duck next to your table. The skin is thin and crispy, whilst meat is juicy and tender. Was difficult to stop at two pancakes. Order 4 dishes - half a duck (with pancakes and sides), a toufu soup dish, a prawn dish and a vegetable and bill was around ¥400. Whilst I love the duck, am not sure if I will want to queue 2h to eat at this restaurant again. Discovered another popular local joint that serves fantastic peking duck, at slightly more wallet-friendly prices on Day 3 of my trip. If queuing is not your thing, you may want to try 局气。Be warned - there is a 30-45 minute wait during dinner

Great Meal, Long Wait, Avoid Dumplings. We selected this over DaDong despite the recommendation of our hotel concierge to go to DaDong; a local later confirmed that Siji Minfu has better food and lower prices. We had ½ roasted duck, cold snow pea shoots with fried taro on top, lamb with onion and cumin and dumplings. The cold snow pea shoots with fried taro on top was amazing; we would have ordered another if we could have fit it; it was seasoned with sesame oil and chili. The lamb with onion and cumin arrived on a sizzling platter; it was so tasty that we ordered a second since our boys inhaled the first. The dumplings were terrible; the filling (pork, Chinese chive and egg) was not good and a disappointment with how good the other dishes were. The roasted duck was not the best that we have ever had but it was good. They are very busy so expect to wait; we were told 1 hr at 6:30 and it actually took 1.5 hrs. They have many little stools outside the restaurant for customers to wait. The location is within walking distance of the Renaissance Beijing Wanfujing and the Wangfujing shopping area. Siji Minfu was one of our better Beijing meal and it fulfilled our roasted duck in Beijing mission. Good atmosphere and reasonable prices as roasted duck restaurants in Beijing go.

After having tried the Peking duck at both Da Dong and Quanjude, I can safely say that Siji Minfu's is far exceedingly the best version. It is a combination of the crispy skin you will find at Da Dong and the juicy fatty deliciousness of the skin of Quanjude's duck. It finds a perfect balance of both and is to die for, and unsurprisingly you will most likely find yourself sitting in a queue for an hour or more to get a table during dinner service. I don't think they even take bookings either, which is a testament to the fame and popularity of this place. Don't worry, it is well worth the wait. The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious and the service is top notch. I came here twice and both times selected a wide variety of dishes and was not disappointed with any of them. The staff are attentive and even helped show some struggling foreigners the correct way to eat the duck! If you're after the famous Peking duck of Beijing and you're wondering where to go, save yourself the hassle and look no further than Siji Minfu. The other famous joints are good too, dont get me wrong, but this one ticks all the boxes, has the best atmosphere and service and is also quite possibly the best duck in all of Beijing!

𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬’ 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐣𝐢 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮 (四季民福) is one of the highly recommended places to go to for Peking Duck even by the local people! Usually tourists go to branch nearby “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦” so they can enjoy both the majestic beauty of the palace and the delicious delectable peking ducks if sitting by the windows! But since we knew there would be a long line, we decided to go to another branch closer to our hotel instead and be there earlier in the morning when they were just open to avoid waiting HAHA 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘛𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘶𝘤𝘬 (𝘗𝘦𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘶𝘤𝘬), 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘧 LOVE it!! - the duck skin is pretty crispy, also the duck meat is definitely tender and so delicious.Adding the condiments and pancake could be a more flavourful way - the waiter would show us how to make a peking pancake so no worry even if you are a foreigner tourist. 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘓𝘢𝘮𝘣 𝘊𝘩𝘰𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘝𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘶𝘤𝘦, 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 See the lamb chops with a crispy golden crust, plus it is tender and juicy - it just practically melts in my mouth. Except of the Peking Duck, this is highly recommended and you‘ll be drooling for more! ✈︎ visit my instagram profile @couplebilibala

This place is really yummy and cheap compared to others. If you're looking for the Beijing Peking duck experience, this is a good place for it. Not the best, not the worse and it's fairly priced. The duck skin was amazing, like crispy butter melt in your mouth omg. Between 3 people, it was only $24 total for this light meal. We ordered half duck with the rice paper wraps and small dishes for the wraps. Water cost money. This place is off to small alley from main shopping road. Come early to avoid long wait. We were seated right away when we arrived at 5pm and they already looked very very busy. The free strawberry appetizer was very good in my opinion. Maybe others got unripened strawberries. Menu is in English, other dishes looked inexpensive too but we ate big lunch. The exchange rate at this time was 1 USD = 6.67 RMB. Waitress English not very good but accommodating.

Title: A Peking Duck Paradise! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment in Beijing, and I must say it offers the best authentic Peking duck I've ever tasted! While renowned for their signature dish, the other menu items were equally amazing. Having grown up in Singapore, I've sampled numerous Peking ducks, but none can rival the authenticity and taste of this gem in Beijing. Despite the bustling crowd, we lucked out with an immediate table for 8 at 6 pm+, bypassing the usual hours-long wait. The service was surprisingly efficient, and every dish, including the highlight - Peking duck, was outstanding. The personalized condiments accompanying the Peking duck added a delightful touch, enhancing the experience of savoring the fatty and incredibly tasty duck. This place is a definite must-try if you find yourself in Beijing!
