I came here for brunch on a Saturday and had the restaurant week lunch set. I wanted to come here when it first opened but at that time it was too busy to get a seat. Things have changed dramatically as the restaurant is pretty empty during lunch hours. I hope this doesn’t continue as I really enjoyed the food here and good Mexican food is hard to find in Hong Kong. My rating is based on: Food: 4.5 stars Atmosphere Service: 4 stars Value: 3.5 stars Recommendations: churros, carne asada tacos, fish tacos, Brussels sprouts, guacamole The food here is very good. This is the by far the best Mexican food I have had in Hong Kong. I haven’t eaten at Chino yet so I can’t say definitively it’s the best. I had the Quesadilla, Brussels sprouts, kale salad, taco plate, churros and pancakes. Something I would avoid is the quesadilla. It’s pretty hard to have a quesadilla not taste good but I don’t like the version here and the price point is way to high for how small this dish is. 1️⃣The Brussels sprouts were really good. They are crispy and soft at the center. It is topped with a poached egg and carnitas. The savory sweet marinade was a nice touch and we devoured the whole plate. 2️⃣The kale salad is topped with a poached egg and the dish contains thinly sliced apple which provides a nice bit of sweetness and crunch to the salad. The sweet potato was a bit out of place but didn’t take away too much from the dish. I would order this again although not as good as the Brussels sprouts. 3️⃣The taco plate is really why I wanted to come here. Tacos are a simple dish but hard to execute well and I was hoping that this would fulfill my taco cravings. The tacos here are really good. I tried the carne asada, fish, al pastor, carnitas, and shrimp. The tacos I found the best were the carne asada, and the Baja fish taco. The carnitas and al pastor were also good. The shrimp I wouldn’t recommend d. The meat to tortilla ratio is quite high. I would guess about 1.5 times the norm and these will fill you up. 4️⃣The desserts we ordered were the churros and the pancakes. Both of these are really sharing size portions. The churros were amazing. They were crispy, moist on the inside. I will definitely order these the next time I come. I really didn’t have room for the pancakes and these don’t really make too much sense as a dessert. They were pretty good, but I was too full to enjoy these. Overall, I had a really enjoyed the food and had a good experience. Definitely will come back when I want some Mexican food.

My recent visit to 11 westside left me thoroughly disappointed with both the service and the overall experience. I would strongly advise against visiting this restaurant under any circumstances. Service: One of the waiters accidentally spilled oil from the tacos on our shirts and phone. While accidents happen, their response was unacceptable. Instead of taking responsibility, the waiter had the audacity to ask if we needed tissues, which seemed quite dismissive and insensitive. The linen napkin provided was visibly dirty and even wet in some cases. It was impossible for me to use it without feeling disgusted, especially considering its proximity to my face. Basic amenities like water cups were not provided to everyone in our group. We had to request them halfway through the meal, and even then, they only brought one cup initially, requiring us to ask for the second one separately. The main door remained open throughout our entire visit, allowing warm air to enter the restaurant. The staff showed no initiative in closing the door, leaving us uncomfortably sweating while trying to enjoy our meal. On Taco Tuesday, we asked a waitress if the tacos listed on the menu were already half-priced. She confirmed, but we later discovered from another senior waiter that the menu prices were not discounted. This miscommunication was both misleading and frustrating. We ordered 2 portions of guacamole, salsa, and chips, assuming that the unlimited refill of chips for $15 would be sufficient for sharing. However, the waitress insisted that we must order 2 portions, without any indication on the menu about a maximum sharing limit for the guacamole and salsa. Food: The quality of the tacos was mediocre at best. While some fillings were tasty, the tortilla shells were extremely dry and crusty. It was surprising to encounter such poor quality tortillas in a supposedly authentic Mexican restaurant. Atmosphere: Although the ambience within the restaurant was decent, the open main door significantly compromised the overall experience, especially considering the scorching Hong Kong summer heat. Final Verdict: To put it plainly, I strongly advise against visiting 11 westside. With a price tag of approximately $550 per person (excluding discounted drinks and guacamole, salsa, and chips), the quality of both the food and service falls far short of expectations. Instead, I would recommend opting for other mexican restaurants, where you can enjoy a more enjoyable dining experience without the discomfort of sweating throughout your meal. 11 westside simply does not justify the high price point, and their service was so appalling that no amount of compensation would entice me to return.

Helmed by Chef Esdras Ochoa, a Mexican native who gained recognition on Netflix's cooking show "The Final Table", 11 Westside aims to transport diners to Mexico in a spacious industrial-meets-elegant setting. In addition to vibrant, diverse dishes showcasing the richness of traditional flavors with modern flair, diners can enjoy 50% off tacos every "Taco Tuesday". - 𝚃𝚊𝚌𝚘 - 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝, $138/2pc (8/10) 𝘛𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘰𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘵 𝘫𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝘼𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙤, $50/1pc (7/10) 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯, 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘭𝘤𝘢𝘫𝘦𝘵𝘦, 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘰, 𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰 & 𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙖 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙜𝙞𝙚, $50/1pc (6.5/10) 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘢, 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘫𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘰 𝘽𝙖𝙟𝙖 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝, $60/1pc (7.5/10) 𝘉𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘦, 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘪, 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙤 𝙎𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙥, $60/1pc (7/10) 𝘉𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘱, 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘰, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘪, 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢 The 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 was a standout – it delighted with its tempura-battered oyster presenting the best of textures - a thin ultracrisp coating that highlighted the plump oyster sealed within. The beurre blanc allowed the briny seafood and subtle heat of scorched jalapeño to shine through in perfect harmony. Another memorable creation was the 𝘽𝙖𝙟𝙖 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝, with its beer-battered sole fillets featuring an ultralight, crave-worthy crust that encased their moist white fish interiors. Layered atop were the freshest pico de gallo, zesty chipotle aioli, and mango salsa whose tropical notes tied the flavors together sublimely in each bite. - 𝙼𝚊𝚒𝚗 - 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙗𝙤 𝙊𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙪𝙨 $198 (7/10) The octopus did impress with its succulent, meaty grilled tentacles. While the octopus itself was perfect, the accompaniment of brussels sprouts, arugula and cherry tomatoes tended a bit too heavily towards greasy, detracted from rather than balanced the dish. Less heavily prepared veggies could have better complemented the stellar octopus. Date: Feb 2024 weekday dinner

If you're looking for anything decent to eat don't go here. The lack of attention to detail in service and especially the food was hugely disappointing. To name a few things that just should not have been served without proper quality control: - Poached 'sweet' corn was not sweet and not seasoned well. Was it even poached in salt water? Where's the corn from? It's not corn season - Beeroot salad was severely unbalanced and poorly constructed. Everything sounds good on the menu but the people in the kitchen aren't even tasting their own food or setting standards to say the least! Overdressed and arugula soaked in dressing, beets cut in all different sizes and undercooked, and arugula stems hanging off my plate (see photo) - Tacos - great variety but every single taco was cooked differently, different thickness & different color. Some were undercooked and falling apart, some were cooked too quickly on high heat there were visible brown spots on the taco. Also, garnishes are sloppy (i.e. large chunks of onion and chunks of 'shredded' abbage) and the chili mayo sauce overpowers with heat - Quesadilla was served like an open pizza, which is a different way to serve but it's not called a quesadilla then. The grilled queso didn't do it justice because the oil separated and the cheese was just chewy. Maybe they used the wrong type of cheese for melting or it was too close to the heat source - shrimps in the tacos and quesadilla - please don't order this if you don't want to eat shrimps with their poop. This is a basic and fundamental thing every chef should know - you devein shrimps! I can't believe such basic knowledge doesn't even exist in their kitchen. Who's running the show here?

Good authentic Mexican food is hard to come by in Hong Kong. So we had to try this when we saw some Instagram photos. If it were up to the food alone, I would rate this a 4.5 stars. The tortillas and chips were wonderfully fresh and made in store, and the food is truly one of the more authentic and pleasant ones Mexican restaurants in HK. However the hostess was rather rude, looking incredibly upset and irritated before even speaking a word with her. It was not a nice welcome to the restaurant. The bathrooms were so dark that seeing anything was practically impossible. The tissue papers provided were black, and we had some black colouring stain our fingers from the tissue after it was wet. Once you know that there are stairs to arrive at the restaurant, it is relatively easy to find, no difficulties there. With non-alcoholic drinks the meal came up to over 1,600 HKD, which is definitely on the pricey side of HK Mexican food. We ordered the GSC - Guacamole, Salsa, and Chips. This dish was prepared table-side and was excellently seasoned, we were given a spoon to taste before serving for personal taste adjustments. 10/10 The tacos here were definitely above average and one of the top ones in Hong Kong. Mango Shrimp Taco: 10/10 Baja Fish Taco: 8/10 Lover’s Beach (tempura oyster + uni): 10/10 Pollo Asado Taco: 7/10 Al Pastor Taco: 8/10 Carnitas Taco - very salty : 3/10 Carne Asada - 10/10 Quesadilla was excellent, beef was tender and shrimp flavourful. 10/10 DESSERT: Tres Leches was below average, definitely had better ones before. 3/10 Churros were good, a classic. 8/10

So ecstatic to finally have tried this place, can see why it's such a gem in the K-town area - definitely one of the best places in town for tasty tacos! We came here for their famous Taco Tuesday deal (50% off tacos), and it didn't disappoint one bit! For this, all tacos except the last two at the bottom of the menu (lover's baech and lamb birria) were part of the promo. We ordered the Al Pastor, Pollo Asado, Carnitas, Carne Asada, Baja Fish and Mango Shrimp, and all were so flavorful and delicious! Ingredients tasted fresh as well; the fish used in the taco was bigger than expected! Love that they didn't skimp ingredients either. Of course you can also order other stuff on the menu to add on with the tacos, and I also do agree that it's quite pricey if you come on a normal day. Would highly recommend booking in advance if you’re coming for the Taco Tuesdays - people go as far as booking 2 weeks ahead of time for this. Lastly, service was fantastic and loved the vibe and ambiance; nothing but great hip-hop classics playing throughout the night. Also cool that the owner of this place, Esdras Ochoa, was on the Netflix show, The Final Table. We had a superb experience here and would most certainly come back again!
