Lee Keung Kee is one of the most famous spots in the city to try the local HK style egg waffles. This is their hole-in-the-wall style shop just off King's Road in North Point. Opening hours are near all day and you will see people constantly walking up to their small window to order egg waffles (now HK$23 each).

The egg-waffles (also called egg puffs) are served in a curve shape of bubbles (or puffs) which are light, crispy and a tad bit sweet. You can break them off and snack on them while walking the streets of North Point. Have to admit the egg waffles served here are pretty good, especially if you eat them as soon as they are served while still warm.

Note: Lee Keung Kee has a second branch in TST along Nathan Road near the corner of Austin Road so you can try them there if spending time in that area...

This is the original location of the seemingly more popular egg waffle stall in Tsim Sha Tsui. We were in the neighborhood on a weeknight and decided to stop by in search of a little snack. What better than a classic Hong Kong egg waffle?

We initially thought there was no line, but quickly realized that the corner stall was for non-egg waffle street foods. We went around the corner and saw that there was a modest queue. Since they only offer one flavor (the original), the queue moves pretty quickly. The woman making the waffles was quite friendly.

The egg waffles were fresh,...

The Hyatt nearby gave us a free voucher for a waffle here. Not sure what the deal was, but we got in line, waited about 10 minutes and the line barely moved. At that point one of us walked 5 min to another free voucher place and 5 min back while the other stayed in line and the line still had barely moved. Eventually it started speeding up but all in all we probably waited 30-40 min when there were maybe 10 people ahead of us to begin with.

Once we did get the waffle though, we thought it was delicious. Great taste and texture as well. Not sure if it was worth the...
