The facility does not have people who understand english and moreover there is no willingness to support. The property does not even provide any quantity of water. Room has cattle but no water. Two coffee and two tea pouches are served per day, coffee powder had hardened, even after complaining about it and front desk making a note and promised to send someone, nothing was done. Nobody is there to even help with taking thr luggage to the room, you got to do it all by yourself, including pulling a cart. Air-conditionning system is so pathetic that I kept sweating the whole night and next day when I called for a technician, all he said was that this is the maximum cooling and he just smiling seeing me sweating and advised me to take bath and left. The property is located in the mid of a local market, full of meat smell and shops selling different kind of meats on the street. I booked a superior room and had requested for a high rise room with a good view, despite requesting it time and again, all I got was a very small room on 15th floor out of total 29 floors in the hotel and that too with two small windows having view of the old ruined building. This is what they call Grand View out here so please do not get drifted by the name and emotions. We asked for basic cutlery, even that was declined. The is no Microwave in the hotel to warm the food, the small refrigerator in the room can hardly cool anything. Please avoid staying here and ruining your experience of a beautiful city knows as Hong Kong. Thanks.

This is a simple yet accommodating place. The rooms are average to small sized by Western standards but they are aptly furnished with good sized beds, a desk and chair, a TV, and a bathroom. The beds are pretty hard but not uncomfortable. The room comes with a power adaptor as well. One thing to note is that shampoo is not provided, though there is a hand soap dispenser affixed inside the shower, which is interesting. I had one interesting experience where a woman (room service?) entered my room while I was sleeping. I realized later that my room door didn't actually close unless you push it hard. The location is not terrible. It's on a side street in the middle of a wet market, and is about a 6-7 minute walk from the North Point station. From the airport you can take citybus A11 to get here. Get off at the second to last stop on Java street, and the hotel is around the block. There is a rooftop swimming pool and viewing deck. My room had some obvious water damage to the wallpaper, and housekeeping kept leaving long black hairs in my bed. To me these are non issues but I can see some people not enjoying it. Also, there is a breakfast buffet for $60 HKD which has mostly Western style foods as well as some Chinese items. You can probably skip this, though, as it wasn't worth $60 HKD. There is a large security presence in the lobby, but I can't figure out why. Perhaps to keep loiterers out? 24 hour McDonalds is around the block, and 7 eleven is at the corner of the street.

the location of hotel was ideally suited to us, tram bus and mtr and even ferries within easy walking distance (tram outside) it does have a "wet" market outside with the tram trunding along the middle of the street through the pedestrians. the market may but some people off but to us it added to its charm, this isnt a tourist market but for locals. we didnt eat in the hotel as there is soooo much choice in Hong Kong. our room was very clean and the bathroom was fine too, the hotel is an older style but very pleasant. the rooftop pool was officcally closed but you could use it at your own risk (we didnt though) the staff were very efficient and polite and all went smoothly, the cleaning did an excellent job each day on our room too. it was a strange experience going from a clean smart calm hotel out the front door straight into a bustling local market with all the noise and smells it brings. there are pleanty of places to eat around (nice bakeries too) and a 7/11 on the corner we often stopped in for supplies on our way back late at night. to sum up it was clean and comfortable in an ideal location for us. remember when in hong kong the airline checkin desks are all at central station so the day you check out of your hotel if you have a late flight you can drop your luggage off and not have to store it or drag it around with you, or when going direct to the airport on the airport express too.

I had a three single beds room that was reserved for non-smoking. The hotel looks just like the pictures I see in these reviews on Google maps. Not horrible, just a bit old and the bathtub looks old and a little dirty as well (cracked and a bit brown/black near the cracks).

The main reason I was disappointed in my stay here was that I was given a room that was non-smoking however it reeked of the smell of cigarettes. How could this have gotten away with house keeping cleaning the room before we got there? I honestly could’ve tolerated it if it was just a hint of the smell but it was ridiculous and suffocating. I also use a wheelchair and have breathing difficulties in the first place, so I knew I could not stay two nights in this same room. We went back down to the lobby to ask for a room change, however not even one sorry was said during the interaction and they kept saying “the room is a non-smoking room and even if you want to change, it will have to be the next day”. I said, “Yes, I know it’s a non-smoking room so then why does it have a suffocating smell as if someone’s been smoking in there for years?”.

Fast forward, they said they will send housekeeping up to open the windows and let the air out so we gave up for the night and asked before heading back to the room what time the new room the next day will be ready (because we had a full schedule planned outside). The worker said that there’s a chance it could be ready by 2pm so until then we could keep our luggage in the lobby office…

What?? I’m sorry but the two workers were mean and sketchy in the first place, and on top of that won’t believe that we got stuck with a horrible smoke smelling room, and now they’re telling us we have to leave all of our luggage (that has no locks) in the lobby office room that’s just open and not even secured? No sir. Very disappointed.

Now it was almost midnight and we’re tired and just want to get some rest before the next long day. We go back to the room after they say housekeeping was done. We see that the windows are cracked a bit open (which didn’t help with anything) and can tell that air freshener was sprayed in the air a bit because it was mixed with the cigarette smell.

After about 2 minutes of staying in the room after housekeeping had left, the air freshener smell completely left and the room smelt awful and suffocating again. This time I called the front desk and asked if they can just give us an air freshening spray/can because if they don’t, we literally cannot sleep in this room. They send in the housekeeping guy to give us a can. We spray the whole room down and as I was sniffing the carpet, chairs, and curtains, they all reeked of the cigarette smell. We covered the room with air freshener and it made it somewhat manageable (thankfully the beds and bedding didn’t smell at all).

The next morning we got a call from the front desk just as we were about to head out of our room from a nice woman this time who was also good at speaking English saying that our new room is already ready. So we hurried on out of there, went to the front desk for the key, and went to our new room to put our luggage up. This room looked the exact same with our previous room (which I did like the layout and how spacious it was), but 100% no smoking smell at all.

We were so happy with our room we were given and our entire stay there didn’t hear one single apology from the workers of how we had to be inconvenienced with such a horrible smoking room.

If we had been given a room that didn’t smell of cigarettes from the beginning, I would honestly have left a good review and the only thing I would’ve mentioned is to keep in mind that the hotel is a bit old. But because of not one single sorry, and having such a horrible first night, I cannot give a good review. Hopefully no one else experiences what we...

Pathetic hotel and service. Extremely filthy. I was here with my family including a child. Biggest mistake. Not upto the global ramda standards at all! It is a 2-3 star hotel at best. There are way better hotels and homestays in this price. They don't clean room even after asking them too. Our room floor was dirty when we came back. We made sure we keep all the used stuff and things to throw/take together for their ease. But they never picked it up. Our used coffee/tee cups were not replaced for 4 days even after asking.

The coffee/tee tray was also only refilled with sachets when you ask for it - this was supposed to be complimentary and done with the room cleaning itself.

They have a room cleaning policy card in the room which says that they clean the room everyday, but to be more sustainable they will change bedsheets every 3 days only, which is fair. And we tried out best to keep it as clean as possible, just got a few stains here and there. But even on the third day they didn't change the bedsheet despite especially reminding them to in the morning before going out. They only straightened the sheets and added water bottles. Beds in general are comfortable, as long as you make the effort to keep it clean.

The washroom is very old and the wash basin gets clogged. The bathtub has stains but there is no other place to shower so we had to use the bathtub only. The bathroom is so small that if you move a little bit you will end up touching the toilet seat. The towels were also smelling but luckily we were carrying our own towels.

The curtains are very dirty and don't move swiftly at all. They don't even close properly from the top. People can see from outside.

Hotel is situated right in front of a wet and cheap market which smells really bad - a strong smell of fish and meat which you can smell till the lobby/reception area. We knew that if we're going to a coastal area, this smell is a part of the journey but this one was really bad for a 4 star property. They could atleast keep a fragrant air freshner or something.

They don't help you with taking the luggage till/from your room. We came from a long journey of 12 hours and had to take up our bags. It was in lift so it was okay and we don't mind taking our luggage ourselves but again, we paid for a 4 star hotel and a 4 star service. It was disappointed but not the worst part.

Front desk and some of the housekeeping is extremely rude. We had booked family rooms with 3 people in each. But they only had 2 blankets. We adjusted in that only but our child was feeling extremely cold and needed another layer. We asked for another blanket the front desk was very rude. They said that you're not the only guest in the hotel, we can't give you. When we told that they already gave less and that were not asking for anything extra than what should've been there, they agreed. But till 30-40minutes they had not sent the blanket. They were again very rude on the call and we had to go to the reception to ask and they were still extremely rude and repeated that were not the only guest in the hotel. They sent another blanket after a really long argument at 1 am.

They are only 3 plug points which are very far from the bed. Disappointed but manageable.

There is water speeage on the walls which adds to humidity as there is no exhaust fan or ventilation either. They have stains on the walls and the wallpaper is also coming off from places but noticeable only if you look closely. They have very less light in the room to...

Terrible service attitude. The bathroom had a wastewater backflush that flooded the room and neighboring room at night. We asked to change rooms, and hotel said they were fully occupied and no other rooms were available, and all they can do is clean it up and offer breakfast coupons. As it was late at night and not knowing how long the cleaning will take we decided to leave the hotel - we are local residents just looking for a staycation night. The next morning we called the hotel to follow-up and nobody answers their phone. We went to the hotel in person and requested a refund. The front desk called someone on the phone (assume the duty manager from previous night) and they said they will not refund because they had offered to change rooms for us and we chose not to accept and left on our own decision - you can imagine our amazement on their reply. On top, the hotel said since we booked through an agent (Trip), any refund request should go through the agent - again, you can imagine our amazement! Anyway, we contacted Trip.com and they were VERY GOOD and offered to follow-up with the hotel. Trip came back very quickly and said the hotel insisted they offered to change rooms for us, and since we chose to leave they will not refund us. Trip was very understanding of our experience and finally offered to refund back the full amount out of their own pocket!! Trip should seriously reconsider partnering with this establishment. Needless to say, this establishment is not recommended at all - their location near a smelly wet market, the aging facilities and questionable cleanliness are not the concerns here - their handling of the situation is and it is ridiculous! We understand sh*t happens (literally) and even if you are restricted with what you can do, this is not the way to handle things - without even commenting on how you are accusing your customer of being a liar! However, booking via Trip is highly recommended - as they demonstrate they are willing to listen and consider the customer's concerns and address them positively, and with empathy!! The agents, hopefully are real people or very very good bots, are very helpful and immediately makes the customer feel appreciated, and willing to help us - thank you "Ifa M" and subsequently "Evans.F" - your assistance and understanding is first-class case-study for good...
