Reaction Coffee Roasters (Happy Valley) — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Reaction coffee has a number of outlets in Hong Long. This is the first time that I have visited any of their branches.

They make one of the better white espresso drinks in HK. I was really happy with the cappuccino I ordered. The price point is also cheaper than most of the specialty coffee chains in HK.

On my second visit here I had a chance to try the food. The dishes here are hit or miss and the bread they use isn’t that great so I would suggest not ordering the sandwiches or toast based dishes. The crab pasta was quite good and I would suggest ordering that.

The single origin didn't go quite along with flat white while the milk foam was not thick nor smooth enough. The brioche French toast was also not as soft as I'd like it to be. So all in all, it was a slight disappointment given its usual crowd, I thought there might be something more to the shop than the others.

Also, with the wide open side door/window, the noises of the cars and buses have ruined a good moment at the shop. Also, it means the a/c has slipped through such big opening. Today is actually quite warm soon already felt that the air conditioning is not quite enough, so I guess it'd be tougher to keep this setting...

Really enjoyed the chill space, and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food and drinks were lacking. Their ‘burrito’ was far from a burrito. More like a sad wrap. Small in portion and definitely something that was quickly whipped together and poorly. Drinks were overall okay. However, we tried their new pistachio basque cheesecake and there was a strange strange taste. Almost as if it’s gone off. It definitely wasn’t the taste of pistachio nor cheese, or at least one that has gone off. We had two bites and that was all we could risk.
