Gone are the days of immediate fury right in front of the elevator exit as restaurant waitstaff trying to sell their shops food + service to your group. Gone are the beer girls walking around serving the beers. The nostalgia of just 6 years ago is no longer. As I'm sure of, Anthony Bourdain wouldn't be pleased to know that Gikee Restaurant has essentially bought out the competition & this once lively, vibrant joint is no longer. Capitalism of the once hailed food market.
To the food. The roasted chicken was great. Everything was ok-la. Overall at least they are still trying to make alright food. It's not like how I remember it though. Worth a visit, not worth a repeat IMO.
Want an experience? Go to Java Road where you can buy all your fresh seafood and ask a neighbouring restaurant to cook it however you like...
