I usually only write reviews on a exceptionally good or bad experience and unfortunately in this case it is the latter.
First of all, the restaurant is seriously short staffed. We dine in during a Sunday afternoon and there is only one waiter serving approximately 15 tables and one cook responsible for the food at the whole restaurant. As a result, our foods and drinks did not arrive until very late. I have also requested a glass of water but I need to remind the waiter repeatedly since she was too busy dealing with everything at the same time.
Secondly, the quality of food is sub standard. The laab we ordered was not authentic at all! And the Vietnamese vermicelli was also very poorly made. I certainly expected better quality since the price is not cheap either!
Thirdly, after the meal (which comes out to be just under $300 for me and my wife), we asked for an extra receipt in order to enjoy the parking privileges (a common practice in HK and I have never been refused in other places). The waiter responded by saying that she could not provide another receipt with the reason being “a credit card counterpart receipt must also be produced in order to enjoy the parking privileges”. I was initially surprised by the response. Nevertheless, I went on to spend $100 or so in another store in order to meet the requirement for the privilege. As I applied for the parking privileges at the concierge afterwards, only the receipts were required, contrary to what the waiter has told me.
Naturally, I was disappointed and even slightly angry at being lied to. The whole dining experience from start to finish has been extremely poor. If there were any positives to be found, I would say the restaurant settings were acceptable, as it was not too crowded and the tables are sufficiently spaced out. But with such quality of service, I highly doubt it will ever be crowded with...
Read moreLousy terrible service! Walked in at 6 pm, restaurant was empty n was told by the manager Adam to return the table at 7 but signage clearly said they close at 8 pm.
We sat on the table outside and I asked Adam, the manager if it’s ok for my daughter to eat her own food ( child pizza from dough bro) with us in the restaurant and he said no. So my daughter has to sit outside of the restaurant , on the communal (public) table and chairs across from us, on her own. He said its company s policy not to bring outside food and he can’t allow her to sit together with us, but restaurant was empty and we were the only customers! Too rigid and quite mean in my opinion.
Food was lousy, we ordered pho noodles they were too hard (undercooked), chewy and stuck together. Soup taste like water.
Definitely not a family restaurant! Adam was very unwelcoming and food was lousy! Will not return! Take your...
Read moreIt is one of the many eateries at the multi level Stanley Plaza and I thought for the price that it charges the portions were a little small. I ordered a banh mi, it wasn’t too bad but there was no “wow” there. I could say though that it was spicy enough and a generous layer of pate was in the sandwich but not enough meat / ham. The day that I went they were understaffed and I really had to wait a very long time for my food. The ambience was alright but not particularly interesting given that the general ambience of Stanley. The Vietnamese drip coffee was maybe not...
