After spending a few hours exploring the beautiful Stanley area, I decided to stop by BistroCana for a glass of wine, drawn by the presence of my favorite rosé on the menu. It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon, and I enjoyed sitting down to admire the views and people-watch along the Stanley promenade. The waitstaff outside were reasonably friendly as they solicited customers.

Unfortunately, my experience took a turn when my wine was served in a cheap, thick glass and was almost at room temperature—definitely not what I expected. After finishing my wine, I was ready to leave, but noticed a pan-fried salmon being served to a nearby table and decided to order it. I regret that choice; the dish was quite disappointing. The vegetables tasted off, the rice was hard and cold, the sauce was unappetizing, and the salmon itself was just barely acceptable. For the price, it simply wasn’t worth it.

I have rated this place 2 stars, I could have given it 3 for the beautiful views, good background music, and attentive service. Sadly, I wouldn’t return myself, which is a shame given the perfect location. I suspect many locals might be avoiding this...

We took a chance to eat here. We saw the google rating was 3.2 stars and I can say that rating is accurate... The fried calamari was clearly from frozen and not great. The fish and chips were just not good. Fish was tough and the breading was thick and hard to chew. The French fries were cheep crinkle cut fries. The muscles were chewy. It’s just low quality food. This place deserves its 3 star review. It’s sad because it seems a very nice family is running the place. They were all very nice and the service was good. But for $560 for two people, the food should have been at least decent. Seems like the only decent restaurant in Stanley is now Beef and Liberty or...

Dine in if you would like to experience one of the worst service! Sit down and ordered at 6:30pm, the occupancy was around 50% only. While we were waiting for 40mins for our main to be served, the table next to us who came later than us was already enjoying theirs. Gentle asking in exchange for this reply “Can’t you see that we are busy!!??!???” Can’t imagine how long ppl will have to wait if the occupancy is 100%. I had to check the bill at their cashier as there was no waiters was free/care about your waiving hand. AVOID...
