This cafe is in a convenient location next to Sai Ying Pun MTR entrance. The coffee is good but the service is so so. Winstons Coffee is one of the few in Sai Ying Pun that have a good range of coffee styles and alternative milk, however I don’t recommend sitting in. The cafe seem to focus on takeaway because they only have bar seating on the side. We chose to sit in since the MTR does not allow food and beverages, but this was a mistake, the lack of soft furnishings and the long narrow space means you hear all the loud clanks and rumbles from the bar. I was also surprised that customers have to pick up their own drinks from the bar and take it to their table, similar to Starbucks. So apart from ordering and making your coffee there is essentially no service provided. I’d rather they forego the free cookie in exchange for better table service. The narrow space means full cups are prone to spillage or bumps from other patrons turning around. Also I’d suggest that the staff add a napkin between the cups and saucer to reduce the chance of cups sliding, this to me is just normal cafe etiquette. If you’re after takeaway coffee and can finish your drink outside before you get to the MTR station in the morning, it’s worth getting your morning cuppa joe here. But if you’re after a relaxing coffee inside then I’d suggest taking yourself to the one of the other cafes in nearby Sheun Wan who offer better seating and some table service so you can settle in after ordering at the counter.

I recently revisited after more than a year, hoping for a better experience. While I recognize that the cake I tried was your lemon poppy seed cake from a previous visit, I found it to be lacking in flavor and it contributed to a less favorable impression overall. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing once again. I've noticed that many other reviews mention the poor attitude of the staff, which seems to be a consistent issue. I understand that training staff can be challenging, it shouldn’t take extensive training to treat customers with basic kindness and respect. A warm greeting can significantly enhance the overall experience, and I believe this is an area that needs attention. There are many other coffee shops in the area with friendly and welcoming staff, which makes it hard to justify returning here. I hope Winston’s can work on creating a more inviting atmosphere for their customers.

The staff here couldn’t be more unfriendly. Not sure if she just had a rbf or life’s too tough. The front door was shut when I got there. So I tried to push it open and it didn’t work, so I tried to pull it open and it didn’t work either. Then I saw this little window opened next to it, so I went over. Little did I know, the staff was so unhappy and came out yelling, “You can’t do this to this door. You’re going to break it.” They slid it open. So I guess I missed the invisible sign that this is a sliding door, huh? I still got two pain au chocolats, and they just tasted like Starbucks level.

Winstons Coffee in Sai Ying Pun is fantastic. It's got a very different anesthetic to many of the cafes in Hong Kong, which gives it a unique feel. It's a tiny Cafe and an intimate space. The barista was friendly and my flat white was fantastic. The espresso blend looked like it was roasted a bit darker than I'd typically enjoy, but that didn't translate into the taste or my enjoyment. The Cafe also serves alcohol so if you're with a group who want something other than coffee, this is also a good call. Loved the sense of humor, the anesthetic and the coffee, great job Winstons!

Tiny place with problematic seating at busy times. Customers with laptops tend to stay a long time, often sitting in the middle of 5 stools. Any groups over 2 will find seating difficult. Coffee was decent but not mind-blowing. Cookies are crazy expensive (45 dollars each) but tasty. Highlight is the espresso martini. Very nice indeed. Service was average. Friendly, but at times, only one staff member working causing delays. Hot coffee delivered after being spilt, necessitating a search for napkins. Overall, a decent coffee/alcohol spot if you can catch it at an off hour.

This is one of my favourite coffee joints in Hong Kong. The set up of this place reminds me of corner of the street coffee joints in Australia. The staff are friendly and the coffee is spot on! This place also has a good selection of food such as sausage rolls, cakes, muffins. With limited indoor seatings, there are a couple of seats outdoors too. The ambience of this place makes you forget you’re in the busy asian city of Hong Kong (and the 90s playlist they have going on also helps with that)
