I think 4 stars is a fair score for this hotel. Some areas are good, some however needs improving. I'll start with the bad first, We were a big group so we had multiple rooms on different floors. A common gripe with all of us is the a/c, specifically the loud fan noise. As a result, the light sleepers in our group did not sleep particularly well. The shower stall is cramped. I'm average Asian sized and I had to keep my elbows tucked so that I won't knock into the glass or walls when washing. The hot water was a bit inconsistent - it varied between lukewarm and hot during our stay. There's no bidet spray, and there's mold in some corners of the toilet as well. That's about it for the bad. Now comes the good bits. I came to realize that I've stayed in several Ibis in different countries. My choice of hotels usually comes down to budget, location and ergonomics. So I suppose Ibis often meets my requirements. This Ibis is located between two MTR stations (Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun on the dark blue line). We got around relatively easily with trams, public buses and MTR. The tram and bus stops are very near the hotel. So we took a direct public bus from the airport to the hotel. And after checking out, we hopped onto a public bus back to the airport. We also visited Macau and usefully the ferry terminal to Macau is walking distance (~10mins). All the Ibis hotels I've stayed in before share similar decor themes. There are some splashes of cheerful colors, but the general look and feel is utilitarian. This HK Ibis is not roomy, but it also isn't the smallest I've stayed in. The lack of floor area was most evident in our twin rooms. The "twin" beds were almost touching each other. However, general cleanliness was good. A few of us liked to start our day earlier than sunrise and can't work on an empty stomach. So I'd included breakfast in our rooms as well. Breakfast is on level 6 and starts at 630am. There's a good spread of fresh and cooked Chinese and Western fare. The menu changes slightly day to day so it didn't feel too monotonous. Taste wise I thought it was mostly quite good. So good that we didn't once have breakfast outside the hotel. My last visit to Hong Kong was over a decade ago. I recall in the past language was a problem unless I spoke Cantonese. But on this trip, I noticed staff speaking Mandarin and English well at many places such as the airport, ferry terminal, malls, etc. Similarly the Ibis staff I interacted with could speak and understand English and Mandarin too. Overall I think this is a good hotel in a relatively good location if you can get it at a reasonable rate. Like I said, it deserves the 4 stars.

The Ibis Hotel in Central Hong Kong is a delight. Location is excellent. The trams the most easiest and cheapest way to get around at $0.30cents is right outside the hotel door. Also the MTR station is a 3 minute walk up the road. This is the local subway station which connects most parts of Hong Kong. The neighborhood is a mix of traditional and new shops, plenty of Chinese medicinal shops superettes local commodities and a local shopping mall. The hotel is a 5~10 minute walk from the Macau ferry terminal building which is the easiest way to find the hotel. The airport bus stops at the Macau ferry building and then jump on a tram or follow the tram tracks to the hotel. There is a shopping centre and food court on the 2nd level well worth a look. The Hotel Ibis may not look flashy. But it does the job in comfort and services from staff who are totally epic. The Hotel is kept very clean the rooms are spacious and have modern facilities. I have to admit that I really have enjoyed the stay in this Hotel. Downsairs they have a Starbucks and the Hotel has its own restaurant. I believe this hotel ticks all the boxes for me in terms of price quality and service. Then the absolute cream on the cake is there staff absolutely awesome people. The staff are the one thing that makes the stay from mundane to perfect. I have really enjoyed my time in Hongkong especially the tram up to the peak the views are stunning. The people of Hongkong are very approachable and willing to help a lost tourist. Which I have to admit as a seasoned traveller like myself have needed help. Also the ferries around to the many parts of Hongkong are 5 star what a place this Hongkong

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Overall this is a rather centrally located hotel available at a reasonable price. I did not book direct with the hotel but with a third party provider but the check-in / check-out process was superb and fuss-free. Room is ok except that it sort of smell of cigarette when we opend the door. We also found opened toothbrush set that was not cleared from the previous guest, the shower space is rather tight and its water-proofing was not done really well as the water tend to pool at the other end instead of flowing nicely into drainage. There was only one bottle of complimentary water even though there were 2 of us staying in the room. We had to ask for water to be topped up twice out of the 5 nights as the housekeeper tend to leave only one bottle for us. I would have given 5 stars of not for the above mentioned minor issues. Nice place to stay still if you ask me and I really would not mind to come back here again. The staffs are friendly and took all feedbacks positively and with a smile. Conveniently located near to MTR (abt 10-15mins walk), with starbucks and convenience store just right below the hotel as well as near Macau ferry terminal. Take H2 (free airport shuttle bus) if you are coming / returning by airport express via MTR. Recommended choice of stay! Thank you Ibis!

It’s a global traveler’s EXPECTATION OF BOUTIQUE STANDARD OF AN EURO-iBis HOTEL. It’s a good value hotel for Hongkong.👏👏👏. It’s on a very good location on old Hongkong Island. It’s a walking distance between two MTR stations on the Island Line, the Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun stations. It is also accessible to the AirPort Express, stop on Hongkong station then interchange at Central MTR station for easy transfer to the Island Line. 👍👍👍. It’s also a short walking distance to the Hongkong-Macau Ferry for easy day (or so) trip to Macau 👌👌👌. Reception (24/7 manned) is on the 5th floor of the building. The bar is across from it. Check-in/out is very smooth. The room is, as expected, Euro-smallish compared to a standard American hotel/motel room. BUT it is immaculately clean. The full double bed is comfortable. There’s ample closet and drawer space. The AC is in a great running condition 👏👏👏 There’s a mini fridge with complimentary bottled water, replenished each day. There’s a kettle for coffee and tea. There’s a room safe. WiFi is very reliable. The bathroom is very clean, suppled with toiletries. For walkers and joggers, it’s a short 2-3 blocks from the promenade on Victoria Harbor.

Hotel Ibis in Central Hong Kong is a decent choice for travelers who prioritize convenience and affordability. The minimalist room design may not be for everyone, but it's a common feature in many hotels, especially in crowded cities like Hong Kong. As you mentioned, the room size is on par with other medium-sized hotels in the area, so it's best to set your expectations accordingly. The hotel's location is a definite plus, as it's close to a bus stop from the airport and the airport express. It's also in the middle of Hong Kong Central, which means that you have easy access to many attractions, restaurants, and shops. The fast check-in time is always a welcome feature, especially for travelers who just want to settle in quickly and start exploring. Additionally, the stunning view of the harbor is a nice touch and can add to your overall experience. Finally, the price of the hotel is relatively reasonable, which is always a plus for budget-conscious travelers. Overall, Hotel Ibis in Central Hong Kong seems like a good choice for those looking for a convenient and affordable hotel in a prime location.

We booked this hotel after going through many hotel reviews, booked a family room and got 2 rooms together which was a correct decision as a single room is small. We were given the room on the 32nd floor harbour facing which was breathtaking. Both the rooms were clean and the housekeeping made sure that it was clean for the next 8 days. (Tea cups weren't changed everyday -only con) We found it easy to travel as the tram and bus stops were easy to navigate. Walking distance to the old traditional restaurants and tourist spots. HK red taxis were always available at their door step and an Uber would drop by in less than 5 minutes. Starbucks and Panda & Sons restaurant made it easier for a quick meal. The view from my room at night was crazy, small boats, cargo ships, cruise ships, speed boats, star ferry ⛴️ helicopter 🚁 we could see it all. The M+ screen was like a Television for us 📺 Since we spent most of our day outside and just spent the night at the hotel, the hotel was perfect for the price. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to being back in Hong Kong for another holiday with IBIS.
