Finding good banh mi in Hong Kong is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It is incredibly rare and often requires a trek out to a far neighborhood that's not too conveniently located.

Having made plans in Kowloon City for the afternoon, we decided to stop by Banh Mi Bakery for a quick lunch. It had been on our list for some time. At opening, 11:30am, it wasn't too full yet but there were already dining parties seated to beat the lunch rush.

They have a board with several banh mi options, listing the top 5 favorites. We opted for the slow-cooked (sous vide) pork and pate banh mi with iced Vietnamese coffee, along with lemongrass chicken, BBQ pork with cold rice vermicelli. Everything tasted delicious and the pork was very tender. But it wasn't a "wow" in my book. A banh mi sandwich to cost HKD144 (USD18) to me, is quite overpriced and expensive. Considering the location is not in Central or in the CBD, nor is it a high-end restaurant, it shouldn't cost more than HKD80-100 at most (including drink). Perhaps it's making up for the lost sales due to the Covid slow down, but a high price might drive more customers away than...

Super goooddd. was so good I only took pictures halfway into the meal. The tomato crab shrimp pho tasted so goood, can really taste the natural umami, and feels homey. Their slow cooked pulled pork bahn mi was super delicious too, should've tried the soft shell crab bahn mi as well . Their butter fried chicken was so juicy too!! Will def come back if I'm near Kowloon city. My friend ate double the amount of what a normal person would eat, so the price was more expensive per person, but 10/10...

If you’re looking for a not too crowded spot near Kowloon city park then you might check it out. It’s very clean, and i appreciate they have nice touches like sanitisers and cleaning tables thoroughly. though not as brightly lit as some review pictures may have depicted. I do feel that $140 for a normal banh mi with set coffee is just not very good value this side of town, considering banh mi is essentially a...

Coffee house vibes and EXCELLENT food. Ordered a Pate Banh Mi which was smoky, slightly sweet, served with a sauce that was absolutely killer. Their coconut rice and lemongrass beef was also phenomenal. Great flavor that melts in your mouth. The crab claw rolls were fresh and delicious, but not sure if they’re worth adding 32HKD. Just not enough pieces to justify the price.
