The restaurant offers an unusually distinctive Thai dining experience that stands out from typical Thai eateries. The dishes are not only delicious but also crafted with a unique flair that makes them memorable. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, providing a relaxing atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The service is excellent, with attentive and courteous staff who go out of their way to ensure that customers feel welcomed and well taken care of. From the moment you walk in, you can sense the staff's dedication to providing high-quality service.
After placing an order, the food arrives promptly, which is a pleasant surprise considering the complexity of some Thai dishes. This efficiency does not compromise the quality of the food, which remains consistently high. However, it is worth noting that the prices are slightly higher than average, reflecting the quality and uniqueness of the dishes offered.
The restaurant's location is conveniently close to a subway station, making it easily accessible for those using public transportation. This is a significant advantage, especially in a busy city. On the downside, friends who prefer to drive have noted some challenges with parking. The parking lot has limited spaces, and the parking spots are quite narrow, which can make parking a bit tricky. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience at the restaurant is highly positive, making it a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy exceptional Thai cuisine in a...
Read moreThere’s usually a line, but there wasn’t so we went in.
The table was still dirty when we sat down, there was bits of rice on it. We had to wipe down the table ourselves even though it was freshly set.
We ordered the set for 2 with prawn cake, curry chicken served with nan, 🍤 prawn pad thai, mango 🥭 mango sticky rice as dessert. A thai milk tea 🧋 and an iced lemon tea. 🍋
The prawn cake was nice and chewy, still hot when it arrived.
Curry chicken was good too, it has potatoes and carrots in it. However, the nan served with it was over cooks. The pastry was hard, I wouldn’t recommend choosing that as a choice.
Prawn pad thai was reasonably good, prawns were frozen prawns instead of fresh prawns though.
The mango sticky rice was good; mango was sweet and sticky rice was steamed to a good consistency. They serve the coconut sauce on the side, so you can add as you wish!
Thai Milk Tea was good, I would recommend asking for less ice. Iced Lemon Tea was not bad as well, like how you can add syrup as you wish for personal sweetness.
Overall, it was a decent experience. Table cleanliness and staff service can be improved. Meal size is decent and price is reasonable. We took away half of the pad...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful Thai restaurant recently, and I simply must rave about their green curry. Here’s my short review:
The green curry at Khao San is an absolute masterpiece. The rich, creamy sauce is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. The flavors of fresh herbs, fragrant spices, and tender pork belly meld together in harmony, creating a symphony of taste that dances on your palate. The eggplants and bamboo shoots add a delightful texture, while the hint of kaffir lime leaves elevates the dish to new heights. Paired with steamed jasmine rice, each bite is an explosion of flavor and satisfaction. This green curry is a testament to the chef’s expertise and a true highlight of the dining experience at this exceptional Thai restaurant.
If you love Thai cuisine, do yourself a favor and make sure to try the green curry at Khao San. It’s a dish that will leave you craving more!
