Food and environment is good. However, it has limited 90 mins for a weekend dinner ( not sure any time limit during week day). Since we have 8 people for booking time at 6pm, one friend arrived about 15 mins earlier than 6pm and didn’t know that time limit started with entrance. Finally we have notified to stop ordering by 6.50pm then a lady came with the bill at 7.15pm with the altitude that we have to leave right away. When my friend asked whether our booking is 6-7.30pm, the lady said their rule is started to count from entrance time with a very rude tone and expression. Even though I have already started to pay right away, she kept repeating the rule and made us feel we have done something wrong with even asking. My point is, the restaurant seems position as semi or even premium, so even you have time limit or customers try to ask for some flexibility this is normal as we have big table. Read moreThe presentation of the food was appealing, but only the Signature Steamed Xiao Long Bao had an acceptable taste.
The $78 Shanghainese Noodle Soup with Braised Beef in Brown Sauce lacked bounce in the noodles, and while the broth and beef flavor were decent, the portion of beef for this price was meager, bordering on minced meat.
Shanghai Style Hot & Sour Soup with Sea Cucumber had a generous amount of ingredients, but unfortunately, the taste was bland with only spicy and lacking the tanginess expected.
The shop's decoration was beautiful, with comfortable seating, and the service was average. There was an additional charge of $13 per person for tea, with a good variety of options available.
Overall, considering the mid-range price point and the quality of the food, it did not live up to...
Read moreWe went here for a nice dinner. The wait was quite long since we went there at the peak time where everyone went to go eat dinner. For me, the dishes itself had a great resemblance to the dishes in Shanghai. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting if you are touring Hong Kong and it is very popular with locals. I’m not sure if the waiters speak English but it is an online ordering service and you scan a barcode and it has English translation. The 小笼包(Xiao Long Bao) was delicious and a must try and so was the crispy chicken! The atmosphere was ok, packed full of people but nothing too special which actually made the experience very casual and arguably more enjoyable. Overall, must try if you are looking to eat more mainland...
