Ombra — Restaurant in Hong Kong

My friend and I got their signature menu for $488, where we could choose 2 appetizers, 2 mains and get 2 desserts. We went with the daily soup and NZ mussels for appetizers, ravioli beef cheek ragu and Ombra pizza for the mains, and panna cotta for dessert.

Truth be told, I did not leave full. The portions felt a little small for a “signature” menu. The pizza we shared was probably 9 or 10 inches, and in the photo, you can see we only got 6 raviolis (which are shaped differently from raviolis I’ve seen and eaten before). We went for an early dinner at 5:30, then noticed diners at nearby tables coming in at 6:30/7 getting bread with olive oil for starters before ordering. I wonder if it was complimentary bread that we were never served… On the plus side though, the dessert was outstanding. The panna cotta was smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet and tart!

I wanted to like Ombra because the space is absolutely gorgeous, the ambiance is divine and the servers were friendly. But the food we ordered was just alright overall, and the portions weren’t generous.

I think I’ll come back one more time because I really like the ambiance, order something different next time and see if I have a...

My first time to explore the new shopping mall “Southside”, me and my friend went for a Friday night dinner. We’re booked the table at 7pm but we’re arrived earlier and the staff was so friendly to serve us a table. The location is a bit hidden but it was full house at around 8pm, surprised!

In general, food was great, service was nice and staff were friendly. I want to highly the tiramisu, it was one of my favorite dishes.

Ombra in Southside is a stylish Italian bistro with great food and excellent value. Fresh focaccia with free refills starts the meal. ✨Highlights include the authentic veal Vitello Tonnato, creamy black truffle fettuccine with fresh truffles, and flavorful Angus beef tagliata. The tiramisu dessert is perfectly balanced and shareable. Highly recommended for quality Italian dining in a cozy setting.
