Dondonya (APM) — Restaurant in Kowloon

Ordered their signature chicken and egg donburi. Came with a large bowl but the portion was not as big because the container was pretty shallow. The chicken meat was very chewy and very little in terms of quantity. The rice tasted fine after mixing up with the raw egg and the decently flavoured cooked eggs. It cost $88 and an additional 10% surcharge, which one could find somewhere better than this in the mall. It might have been better if I had ordered the one with sukiyaki beef added (but of course more expensive).

Atmosphere was nice with Japanese music playing in the background. Seats were comfortable.

In terms of service, there was little service as ordering and water refill were self service. It doesn't accept cash so pay attention before you visit but the staff would always remind customers as I heard this multiple times...

Venue: Japanese wooden interior design. Slightly packed. All tables have cups, a jar of water, and a cage of utensils. Basic 75 minutes dining time. --- 7/10 Service: To be seated. Place order via QR code. Food served fast together. Card payment (no cash) at reception/cashier. Friendly and gentle staff. --- 7/10 F&B: Colorful photo on menu in Chinese, English, and Japanese. Good presentation. Good portion. Resonable prices. Cheese Oyakodon Set, $140 +10% service charge, including 1 side dish (Torikai Tabasaki 1 pc/ Sashimi), pickles, salad, miso soup, 1 dessert, and 1 drink ( we ordered coffee & fruit tea). Not very chessy. Chicken dice was not glossy or silky. Good portion of rice on the bottom. Sashimi prawn was big. Miso soup had tofu puff...

delicious authentic Japanese cuisine coupled with a spacious atmosphere. Seating was comfortable and the staff was friendly and eager to accommodate. The wide variety of Japanese rice dishes were all reasonably priced and the generous portions left us satisfied. Overall well worth the experience. Needless to say i will be going back again to try other...
