The food was excellent, and I would rate it as a very good 1 star. However, it is let down by the service and the hardware.

The wait between the dishes was far too long, our dinner took nearly 4 hours. For a six course menu, this was really far too long. My back was starting to hurt from too much sitting towards the end.

What was worse was that halfway through the meal the ventilation seemed to have been switched off. By the time the meat course arrived, the restaurant was incredibly stuffy. This was probably because the restaurant was physically part of the shopping arcade. However, it is shocking that a restaurant of this calibre would not pay extra for after-hours air conditioning. We did ask them to turn up the air conditioning and were told that they had done so but there was no actual improvement.

As we had our main course, the staff were also starting to pack up table cloths etc and half had already left. If the slow service and long dining time was intentional, then do not let your guests feel that they are being subtly asked to hurry up and leave (not that they could do so because there was a long wait to even for our tea and coffee!).

A minor service issue (which would not have been a problem if other aspects had been better) was that when I left for the washroom, my napkin was not picked up and folded on the table or replaced.

Otherwise, the old world fit-out and carpeting were nice. The band was okay, but one of the singers started to go off key towards the end of the night. Poor thing was probably made to stand and sing for too long.

All in all, it was not an enjoyable meal despite the excellent food. They also charged 3 star prices for (admittedly very good) 1 star food and 0 star service. There are better options...

Uncoordinated management, waiters and waitresses were running around without a clue as to what they were doing , didn't know how to present a menu, didn't know how to even pour water, European sommelier didn't have much knowledge , food was extremely slow , asking for anything took ages to get, obviously untrained. Snobby young white boys replaced the old and experienced managers. Didn't recognize a single one of them, they also either don't speak English or they didn't know etiquettes on hospitality and greetings. But no matter what it is extremely rude to not properly greet a guest when they are standing right in front of you!

Food was Mediocre.... nothing bad nothing good. Definitely not worth going anymore. Worse experience out of a decade of eating at Gaddis. The ambiance is gone.

Gaddi's has lost it's touch and sensibility. This also shows me that in a whole Peninsula hotel group has lost it's golden management and hospitality skills, glory days are gone ... or should i say wiped out by their own decision of cutting cost by replacing all the experienced and wise staff with young and clueless white boys. Obviously some racism and bias can be seen in Peninsula's...

I'll probably just echo what other reviews have said. But having visited a whole lot of luxury dining establishments around the world I can tell you that this place deserves no recognition for its food as there is an abysmal gap between the food and the service. First let's acknowledge what is deserved. The restaurant ambiance and service are high up there with the very best in the world. Not a single detail is overlooked and all the staff are extremely professional. Now to the real deal... The food is... OMG where can I begin??? Appetizer tasteless, second course: the ravioli from a Costco frozen dinner would be better, third: foie gras disgusting (and I honestly can't get it, how can you get foie gras so disgustingly wrong???). Fish?? Honestly fish from any (really ANY) business class flight would be better as it is was way overcooked and chewy. Then the poultry... I won't even talk about it... And finally comes the dessert. It was acceptable but not exceptional. Bottomline: It is an awesome decorated place with the very best service you'll find a anywhere. But if you are after truly exceptional food please look elsewhere as you will be dramatically...

My mom wanted to return to this restaurant since it was decades ago. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The meal overall was good but it definitely could have been better. For a fine dining establishment, the service was extremely bad. It seemed like they did not have enough staffing staff even though there were that many tables that were occupied. They were relatively quick to get our order for the drinks and food, but thereafter it was super slow. When you are at a fine dining establishment, water glasses are never left empty. If you have crumbs on the table, they get taken care of. There were a whole bunch of crumbs and the staff just placed the next dish onto the table without cleaning it! Unbelievable in my opinion! At the conclusion of the meal, we had to ask for the check - since when does a guest need to do that when you are at a fine dining establishment? Never! Then to add to the insult, the staff member stood next to me while I was adding the tip to the bill. Again, I have NEVER experienced that and I am NOT a novice when it comes to fine dining.

A warm, pleasing, and delicious experience at this Michelin Star restaurant- the food was quite sumptuous and the service is even better! The lady singer added value to the evening and the staff helped out a lot- they were fluent in English as well. The ambience is very classy and posh- very classic, Titanic-like with glass chandeliers and roses aplenty! Obviously it comes along with its own fine dining aspects, like it’s not too easy on the pockets and it needs a dress policy, but the whole experience is unique and a must once-in-a-lifetime. In the a la carte options, we loved the handcrafted butters, the sourdough, the desserts, and the sirloin steak - their options of wines and cheeses are also delectable and the amuse bouchée was a lovely pop in the mouth! Interacting with Chef Anne was the cherry on top who came personally to visit the guests and our server Yuki was a bundle of smiles and polite service! A big thumbs up to the whole experience.
