Spring Moon, the Michelin-starred Cantonese gem nestled within the iconic Peninsula Hong Kong, offers a truly enchanting dining experience that transcends mere gastronomy. It's a place where tradition, refined craftsmanship, and impeccable service converge to create an unforgettable journey into the heart of classic Cantonese cuisine.

Ambiance and Atmosphere Stepping into Spring Moon is like being transported to a glamorous 1920s Shanghai mansion. The elegant Art Deco design, with its rich dark wood finishes, exquisite stained-glass windows, and subtle Oriental rugs, exudes a timeless sophistication. The multi-level dining room is thoughtfully laid out, providing a sense of intimacy even within its grand setting. This serene and luxurious environment, coupled with the soft lighting, sets the perfect stage for a refined meal, allowing guests to savor every moment in a truly distinguished atmosphere.

Culinary Highlights Under the masterful direction of Chef Lam Yuk Ming, Spring Moon delivers a Cantonese repertoire that is both deeply traditional and subtly innovative. The restaurant is renowned for its exceptional dim sum, which is truly a highlight during lunch. Each dumpling and pastry is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, boasting delicate skins, vibrant fillings, and exquisite flavors. The Baked Barbecued Pork Puffs are often cited as a must-try, with their perfectly flaky crust and savory-sweet char siu filling.

Beyond dim sum, the à la carte menu showcases a magnificent array of classic Cantonese dishes. Signature preparations like the Roasted Peking Duck are executed to perfection, boasting crispy skin and tender, succulent meat. Seafood dishes are prepared with the utmost respect for their natural flavors, whether steamed with ginger and scallion or wok-fried with precision. Spring Moon is also famously credited with inventing the iconic XO sauce, and a taste of this rich, umami-laden condiment is an essential part of the experience.

Service and Tea Culture The service at Spring Moon is exemplary, embodying the legendary hospitality of The Peninsula. The staff are highly attentive, discreet, and incredibly knowledgeable, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring every need is met with seamless grace. A particularly distinguishing feature is the dedicated tea counter, where expert tea masters guide guests through an extensive selection of over 25 premium Chinese teas, offering personalized pairings that enhance the flavors of the dishes. This deep appreciation for tea culture elevates the entire dining experience, adding an extra layer of authenticity and refinement.

In summary, Spring Moon is not just a restaurant; it's an institution that consistently upholds the highest standards of Cantonese fine dining. Its combination of breathtaking ambiance, exquisite culinary artistry, and unparalleled service makes it an essential destination for anyone seeking a truly memorable and authentic taste of Hong Kong's rich...

Heard so much about Spring Moon and after so many prior visits to HK, we decided to make a visit to Spring Moon.

From reservations to our actual lunch, everything was done in a superb manner. Marco was the one who emailed me and recommended dishes that I might wish to possibly reserve for our lunch. On our visit, we were made to feel very warm and welcomed to our table. Service was impeccable and our main server for the day was Jerry. He came by numerous times to check on us and how was our dinning experience. We saw that the hotel was serving dumplings so we decided to ask if we could have them for lunch since it was supposed to be a takeaway item. Jerry checked with the chef and made sure we got our item abet he had to stress it would take some time like an hour but we were fine with waiting.

Food wise, everything was tastefully done from the setting to the appearance and the taste itself. From the explanation of the sauces to use to the dish itself. The server was on task for the tea, moving the pot back to the counter to top up and to make sure our tea was hot all the time. Nice. We had some dim sum which was good and we had from the main menu, the crab claw which was well worth what we paid for. Sweet and succulent to the last bite. The BBQ pork was great. I must say that I had three versions in the last 3 days from Tin Lung Heen, Man Wah and Spring Moon and all three tasted great. But if I was to choose one, I would go for Spring Moon’s one. It had that extra sweet taste in it. Dessert was almond cream and it was good. Even my wife who doesn’t usually take almond tried a few spoons before passing me to finish up the rest which I duly obliged.

What made our lunch extra special was what Jerry had prepared for us while serving the dessert. We received a lovely platter with delicious mini egg tarts and a kind of “kueh” to mark our wedding anniversary. I mean it was thoughtful enough as they didn’t need to do that. Not all places would do that. Probably if you ordered some desert with cake, they might add in some wordings but kudos to Jerry.

Definitely would come back again on our next trip to HK. Well worth all the hype and the food and service was top notch. In fact I feel that a 4.3 review is kinda unfair to them. This was at least on par with what we experienced in Man Wah and...

We had a truly wonderful dining experience at this Michelin one-star restaurant. When we first asked about birthday perks, our server Levis kindly informed us that there were no specific promotions for birthdays. While we felt a bit disappointed at first, the attentive service that followed completely made up for it.

Throughout the meal, Levis was incredibly observant and thoughtful, checking in on us regularly, refilling tea, and offering help at just the right moments. What really impressed us was his attentiveness in noticing that we had two birthday guests at our table. Without us saying anything, he thoughtfully brought out two portions of complimentary dessert, along with the chef’s specially made peach-shaped green bean buns at the end of our meal — a heartfelt and memorable gesture that made the birthday celebration extra special.

We also had our baby with us, and Levis kindly helped set up a high chair that was not only very comfortable but also came with a full set of baby utensils. These thoughtful details made dining with a little one incredibly smooth and enjoyable — something that parents truly appreciate.

All in all, this restaurant offers not just exquisite cuisine but also warmth and attentive service. Highly...

餐枱上岀現曱甴,其岀品芋頭糕內又有長頭髮,正考慮報食環署。 Had a dinner on Dec16. Food was great but a small cockroach🪳showed up ON OUR TABLE. It probably came from the pot holder that has aluminium foil wrapped but that speaks a lot about the sanitary condition of the kitchen. Staff handled it swiftly so we let that slide without having them replace all dishes on the table as offered, but only the two closer to the cockroach and with pot holders and potentially housed the cockroach. We were later offered a table of desserts that we did not plan to order. They were only ok. We accepted the gesture of goodwill because we did not want to make a scene. Honestly we would have preferred the bill being taken care of given the grave situation. On Dec20, when I was going through customs at the airport, someone called from Spring Moon, I think to followup on the case. I asked them to call back but haven’t heard from them since. Today I got a Taro cake from Spring Moon, and upon cooking, a thread of long hair was found within. It was tangled within the cake structure and took some strength to remove it completely. I’m not consuming the cake. Was really shocked and disappointed with their quality control. Considering reporting to Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
