I believe this place is a bit overrated You start the dinning experience with queuing outside, the line moves fast, but there are some dripping AC water from above.
After you are seated, there is also a bit of wait for the food, but acceptable. I can see the inside of the kitchen from my seat, the food containers and pots are placed on the floor. I will give them a doubt here because I assume the soup will be reheated. At the end, it’s a tight kitchen.
The food arrived, I would call the soup is not hot, maybe luke warm, the portion is ok, but I added $40 extra for the full set. The total is $138, leaving you to judge the price.
The staff chat and yell among themselves. Again, im not going to judge on this, as this maybe the Japanese thing. But I believe they can improve their service, in terms of explaining the menu and checking in for feedback.
There are more independent ramen shops in the hood that offer better value...
Read moreI went during the lunch time menu. I think this place is great! They also read off the orders in Japanese which leads me to believe the cooks are also Japanese. Each component is quite neutral on its own. Once combined together, it really brings out a great harmony of flavors. Soup Base: Prominent Dashi taste. There are a few bits of Pork which is a nice addition and fullness to the broth. Not overly salty in my opinion. Has an ever so slight sweetness to the base. Noodles: Bouncy and elastic. Great texture. Char Siu: has a slight charbroiled taste to it. Reasonably lean. I got the "Seafood" Dashi(?) Tonkatsu Tsukemen or so I think with extra Char Siu (Pork) and Lava/Ramen Egg (not necessary as an after thought imo) Seating: Consistently full Please use the translations at your own discretion. I hope it helps you to...
Read moreBeen here a few times but for lunch only because of our slight preference for tsukemen. This time we went for dinner and ordered one prawn ramen and one bonito ramen. Both broths were delicious as always and the noodles were okish springy noodles (not as springy compared to tsukemen). We paid $10 for extra noodles and $32 for additional pork belly and $42 for the “everything set” which includes a generous amount of bamboo shoots, 10 seaweeds, 2 pieces of pork and an egg. It came to a total of $275 and their portions were so huge that we had to take away half a bowl of ramen. Good price good quality. The slight complaint would be that the ramen broth was served too hot. It was impossible to eat without burning your tongue. A decent ramen...
