From stepping out the lift, I was already impressed with the environment of the restaurant.
Gaylord was opened since 1972, a long history means a quality assurance for customers:) They have both indoor and outdoor seating with big windows, u can see a partial view of the harbour. Inside decoration is modern and beautiful!
You can see the chefs preparing the food in the kitchen or bartender mixing your drink from the seats.
They have traditional Indian dishes but also added with a fusion or modern twist, such as adding truffle into its dishes.
What a pleasant view of lunch today, 3 main dishes and 2 different types of naan.
First, the staff gave us the free appetiser papadam with the mint yogurt sauce. The light peppermint tastes refreshes our taste buds for the fragrant spices dishes ahead.
Tandoori Chicken The tandoori chicken is well marinated in its Indian yogurt sauce, so this gives the chicken meat the extra tenderness and the chicken is like coated with a layer of seasonings, which is so good!
Chicken Tikka Masala I guess thats like a must order dish if u go to an Indian restaurant. The curry is very creamy with sweetness from the coconut milk and a little kick of spiciness, all the aromatic flavours from the spices blend together nicely!
Goan Prawn Curry This is no doubt my favourite because I like it spicy! A nice combination of spices and sweetness, with a great texture of the prawns and a lovely long finish as I can still taste the spices from the curry after the consumption.
Cheesy Truffle Naan This is like the best naan in town. Look at that generous amount of truffle sauce they put on it, so you can definitely imagine the heavenly taste of it. Already addicted to the smell of it. Can just eat it as like a pizza so that the curry will not overpowering it.
Garlic Naan Simple yet flavourful, more dry than the truffle one so perfect to soak up all the flavours of the curry!!
Service is goood as well, staff gives nice recommendations on food, checks on you after food is served. Will...
Read moreWe won't go back to this restaurant; we were very disappointed with the experience we had. We called to make a reservation on last Monday night twice. The first call was around 5 minutes to 6 pm, and the second call was at 6:08 pm. On both occasions, we were informed that we could only have two seating times: one at 6:15 pm and another at 8:30 pm. During the first call, I explained that we needed to think about it because we couldn't make it for the 6:15 pm slot. I asked if we could reserve a table for 7:15 pm, but the lady from the restaurant said it wasn't possible. The second time we called, we asked the same lady if we could make an exception due to our very early flight the next morning, considering that it was a Monday night and the restaurant might not be very busy. We even inquired about the possibility of an 8:15 pm reservation, but the lady from the restaurant refused and told it’s their company’s policy to prevented them from accommodating our request. Reluctantly, we booked for 8:30 pm. One of our friends arrived at the restaurant at 7:15 pm because he didn't have a mobile phone, and we couldn't reach him. When he got there, the restaurant didn't inform him that our reservation was for 8:30 pm; instead, they simply said that our party hadn't arrived yet. At that time, the restaurant was still less than 10% occupied. When we finally arrived at 8:30 pm and finished our dinner by around 10 pm, the restaurant was still less than 10% occupied. We were very disappointed with the restaurant's staff, who were unhelpful...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant, and it's a gem for North Indian cuisine enthusiasts like me. Without a doubt, it deserves a perfect 10/10! Having explored various North Indian eateries across different cities, I can confidently say this one stands out.
The experience began with the half chicken tandoori, a culinary masterpiece. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and incredibly juicy. The blend of spices was expertly marinated into the meat, resulting in a burst of flavors with every bite.
Next up was the chicken tikka masala, which delivered creamy and rich umami flavors that delighted my taste buds. The saag paneer was a revelation; it practically melted in my mouth, showcasing the chef's skill in balancing textures and flavors.
I also had the pleasure of trying the bhindi masala, and it didn't disappoint. The plain naan and truffle cheese naan were equally delightful, with the latter boasting a fragrant aroma that elevated the entire meal.
In sum, this restaurant is a North Indian food lover's dream come true. It's a culinary haven where every dish is a testament to skill and passion. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and exceptional North Indian...
