#toast — warm bread in sai kung is much loved online and locally for their seafood pumpkin bisque. i went all the way to sai kung for a cafe hunting day and had to make a stop here (make sure to check their opening days online before going as it can change). flavor is salty in a salt water reminiscent way- almost want to say “taste of the sea” which is interesting. bread is very crunchy! it took around 15-20 minutes to prepare the soup and meal so make sure you’re ready for the wait in case you’re hungry. interior is quite minimal with small, cute decorations. there are around 10-15 seats inside the store :) follow @nomkakaii on Instagram for updates on toast travels!

This cafe serves homemade sourdough, bagels and dessert. The vibe is very relaxing and chill. Ordered earthy green bagel and cold brew. The bagel is fairly ok as it is not as chewy as a bagel supposes to be. Earthy green consists of portobello and half an avocado, with slices of pickles and tomato. These filling are very soft and great pairing with a crunchy bagel. The sourness from pickles make it extra refreshing and summer-y. However, the cold brew is not good. Filled with a lot of ice and the coffee flavour is quite bland.

A very friendly and cozy cafe with amazing homemade cáñele and kanelbulle that got a perfectly crisp crust and soft interior. Their bagels and pasta were superb too. But the real star was really their coffee, made with single origin beans from Calendar Coffee, an eco-friendly roaster in Ireland. This place is a must-visit if you want some killer coffee and a “warm bread” (love both of their eng and chin name so much).
