Unbelievable that this can be a Michelin rated restaurant. Misters Edouard and Andre Michelin would be rolling in their grave if they knew Michelin gave this place even half a star.
Service was just slightly one step above what you would expect from a hole in the wall eatery in New York City Chinatown. For example, Never refilled water until requested a few times then gave us hot water. Had two wait staff to serve the nice Caucasian man who came in at the same time, but hardly looked our way to take our order. (tongue in cheek....I am Asian, but just as nice). I understand there are circumstances in which patience and understanding is necessary, and I've never ever posted anything badly about a restaurant, and have much respect for those working in the service industry, but this place was a farce protraying a luxury dining experience. If not for the decor and spacious location, I would have rated this place one star. Lastly, the food couldn't make up for the lack of service. Not Shanghai standard.

They were extremely rude, made us pay before receiving our food, brought me the wrong meal and tried taking our dishes away before we finished eating so instead they then stood next to our table with their clean up cart impatiently waiting. We were there at the end of the night but according to their website they were still open for another 30 minutes when we left. My worst experience in Shanghai by far! The thin skin, light meat density, creamy pork flavor, and good soup ratio make this spot far superior to the more famous Din Tai Fung...
