We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation while celebrating our anniversary. We’re not from the area, and it looked like a great spot for a special dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing and, frankly, upsetting.
Upon arrival, our server asked if anyone had allergies. We immediately informed him that our child has nut allergies and asked specifically to be told if any sauces—like pesto—contained ingredients like cashews or pistachios. He acknowledged our concern and reassured us there would be no problem.
However, one of the appetizers came with pesto sauce, which we didn't notice right away due to the very dim lighting in the restaurant. Our child took a small bite and quickly started complaining of a prickling tongue. Alarmed, we asked the server again about the ingredients. He hesitated, thought for a moment, and then said, “but the appetizer has very little pesto sauce.” That response is unacceptable when it comes to food allergies. Any amount is too much when it comes to allergic reactions. (This should be taught in any food industry level)
For context, traditional pesto is made with pine nuts. However, many restaurants use cashews or pistachios as a cheaper substitute. Given the reaction our daughter experienced, we suspect that was the case here—at a restaurant charging high-end prices, no less.
I had to leave immediately with our daugher to give her antihistamines and stay near a bathroom, as she also experiences gastrointestinal symptoms from these allergens. My husband and other child stayed behind to pack up the food and settle the bill. Despite the situation being caused by the restaurant’s lack of awareness and communication, they charged us the full amount.
Our entire dinner lasted about 15 minutes, and we ended up eating the rest of our anniversary meal cold at the hotel. The food itself was okay—not bad, but absolutely not worth the high price. If this restaurant wants to present itself as high-end, it needs to deliver on every level—from the food to the service. That includes properly training servers to handle allergy disclosures and to respond with care and accountability when issues arise.

This place could easily go head-to-head with any high-end restaurant in the US. The property is flawless, it’s in the best neighborhood in Barranquilla, just a short walk from the top hotels. I went on a Saturday night, and it was buzzing, you definitely need a reservation because this is a hot spot for dinner in Barranquilla.
When I arrived, I was greeted warmly at the door. The hostess found my reservation right away and seated me without missing a beat. My table was right next to the wine room so I could admire all their amazing bottles, watch people streaming in and out of the reception area, and hear the DJ spinning chill electronic dinner music. The vibe is electric and perfect for a young upscale crowd, so dress smart or you’ll look out of place.
My waiter Joseph was super friendly and on top of everything. Even with several tables to manage he kept checking on me, so I never felt like a solo diner being overlooked. I kicked off my dinner with a delicious Moscow Mule, then had a fresh salad and cheese ravioli that were both savory and world class. The food here is always on point, and when you mix that with the hip environment and attentive service, it makes for a memorable dinner you won’t soon forget.
