Almost a regular Juan Valdez. Here they are trying to create a experience close to the one in Orígenes (the one located on the corner of Calle 70 and Carrera 6). Sadly weather has not been their ally since they opened, rainy season keeps most of the outdoor seating wet and close to unusable.
Here I tried the Guava Cheesecake, one of the few recommended dishes since they changed the menu last year (2016). It is basically the traditional plain cheesecake, topped with guava jam, but if you like guava you must definitely try this one.
Also tried the Hazelnut Tartlet, really hard to eat as there is no way to do it by hand and the fork/spoon does not help much due to the hard top, almost unbreakable without making a mess. That one is a big fail in Juan...
Read moreMe and my husband came here for a drink, ordered 2 hot chocolates (17.000) and because of their problem with terminal they took this amount of money from our cards not 1, not 2, but 3 times!! And the worst is that they didn’t show any interest to help: nor to call the bank for immediate reimbursement, not giving us back cash or offer to order other food for this amount of money. They just said that after midnight in theory the money should be back on our bank account. Obviously nothing was reimbursed! Terrible and criminal company and terrible...

When I asked about coffee with cheese in it (apparently a specialty in Colombia at Juan Valdez), she blankly stared me down and shook her head like she didn’t understand me. I asked in Spanish too.
Food was okay for a corporate coffee franchise. Coffee was nothing special.
Would not return because of the bad attitude of barista. Maybe racist against foreigners or she just hates...
