It was so bad we checked-out early without a refund, something I have never done before. I travel for a living and even do four international family vacations a year. This is by FAR the worst hotel I can remember. Below is just a start to the numerous issues:||||- It is so loud it is impossible to receive a good night's sleep! I read reviews about the noise so requested a "quiet" room. Well, it was not. The buses outside are so loud, they run from 4:45am to 11pm, and the hotel is right on a bus route. And even on a Thursday night the club nearby was booming until 2am. The windows are so thin and drafty that it does not protect against any noise.||||- It took four visits to the front desk for them to replace the alarm clock that was cracked and inoperative upon check-in.||||- The TV did not work and took two days to fix. There is no maintenance staff after 5pm (when we checked-in) to fix anything.||||- The soap in the bathroom is straight liquid. It is ineffective and is useless against cleaning your hands.||||- The towels are thin and tattered.||||- The shower water pressure is minimal, and we never received hot water (lukewarm at best).||||- There is no safe in the room. Given the perception of Colombia from the past, a safe is necessary to store money, jewelry, passports, cameras, etc.||||- There was not a single cup in the entire room! I hope you like drinking out of the faucet. This is especially astonishing given that they have a kitchenette setup. This includes no silverware, bowels, plates, kitchen soap, or kitchen towels.||||- No one at the front desk speaks English except the manager, who we only saw once.||||- The beds were rock hard.||||My recommendation would be to...
Read moreThis is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. Its a very old building that looks like it hasnt been renovated since 1990.
I booked it (online) 10 minutes after midnight and the computer woukd only allow me to book it for the following day. When I got there at 3am the rude lady manager (a big liar ) saud that they only had the deluxe suite available that night and wanted to charge me an extra $100 compared to the price of my reservation. I barely saw any other customers and I know for a fact that at least 30% of the hotel was empty.
I had no choice but to accept their price becauae at night the neighborhood is very sketch with drug addicts and homeless people walking around and graffiti on all the walls. So I was not going to walk the streets at 3am carrying my heavy suitcases and with $1000 in cash in my suitcase.
The next morning I checked out and went to Viajero Hostel which was much cheaper and a nicer placr with Sauna and Steam room.
I do not recommend this hotel that does not even have ice or filtered water available.
The rooms are like a 2 star...
Read moreWe booked this hotel and got there around noon. We were advised that our room was not ready and to return at three. When we returned we were told there was a mistake and they did not have a room for us and that they were moving us to a hotel across the street Hotel Augusta. We had booked a one bedroom suite and they gave us a room with two double beds. I had to go back to the Blue Doors and say we wanted something equivalent to a suite. Finally anger an hour of sitting in the lobby they moved us to a suite in the other hotel. ||||We had breakfast at the Blue doors one day. It was not good. We ate breakfast the rest of the days at the Augusta which had a much better breakfast. ||||Save yourself hassle and do not book at Hotel Contental Blue Doors. Book at Hotel Augusta across the street. The staff is much better, a the atmosphere is great and the breakfast is good. ||||It is a good walking area here and close to everything in the...
