Raíces Jardín — Restaurant in Cabecera Municipal

GO HERE! This is a very small restaurant with only five tables, so reservations would be recommended at any busy time. Both our meals were absolutely fantastic. My wife had a huge hamburger that was spectacular. I had a meat platter consisting of four generous portions of melt in your mouth beef tenderloin, on top of an Asian inspired rice with corn and edamame. We finished off with the churros and a Kahlua like rum. Highly recommended. Easily our best meal in Colombia over the past 3 weeks of to travel. EDIT: After a very disappointing visit to the #1 rated Trip Advisor restaurant, we returned to Raices Jardin. We were not let down. My wife had the Trout Roll and loved it. I had the Lamo Saltado (likely beef tenderloin, not sirloin). Fabulous. Perfect end of meal again with Churros and Mijo. This place deserves to be #1 in Jardin. I would never order a burger while traveling to unique places--I prefer to try the local fare. But when Andres, the owner of this insanely fabulous restaurant, told me to trust him and try his burger with green apples and 2 kinds of cheese, I took him at his word.

Bottom line--I couldn't stop moaning--this was without a doubt the BEST BURGER I have EVER had in my life. It was worth the 5-hour bus ride to Jardin (and I'd do it again). it was accompanied by what you couldn't even call "fries", because they were beyond description--thinly sliced potatoes, stacked together and lightly deep-fried to a result that make my mouth thank me with every bite...and the dipping sauce was spectacular.

Reservations are needed. This place is a hidden gem that deserves more than 5 stars. And yes, I'm going back again tonight for something else...

This place is gourmet homecooking at its finest. If you come to Jardín you HAVE to come here. This place is 10/10 and cannot be missed. The wine reminded us of some unbelievable Chardonnay we’ve had in Tuscany, but was only £3 a glass. You need to get the papas to start - the pinnacle of flakey goodness, the Angus hamburger was elite - one of the best I’ve ever had. Deep umami flavour.
