A really priced poor imitation of an Argentina's steak house. To be honest, you can get better meal, and a more friendly service anywhere else. Here are some details: Number of the party :4 ( all men) Type of meeting : business Order from the menu : Appetizer: chorizo and blood sausage A beef chorizo 2 sirloin steak Pork ribs Here is where the itching started. Because the appetizer was terrible, uncooked, untaste. Each one got a bite, and don't want to eat it.
Then, we asked the waiter ( who wasn't exactly friendly) to bring a bottle of wine but the prices ( despite we have USD currecy) are ridiculously expensive. A bottle that you get for $12 bucks at the store and probably $25 at a restaurant, it cost $100 at this Colombian restaurant. We are not cheap or frugal, but you noticed, this is a ripoff and we decided to go with beer.
Whe our chamy waiter came to take the order, there only 2 sides option 😳 ( yes unbelievable) or salad, or french fries. We thought it was a joke, but we find out the place itself it's a joke.
I had traveled a lot, and one of my favorite places in Buenos Aires is Calden del soho Grill, their menu includes: mash potatoes, and 4 different potatoes styles, spinach, morrones asados, grilled vegetables. But Mazola has nothing than poor options.
Overall, the steaks were good, ( beef chorizo too small compared with a real Argentina Steakhouse in Argentina or Mexico or USA)
Personal note : a bathroom in a restaurant MUST be special, clean and comfortable. This restaurant bathroom it has all the opposite. It is located in a mezzanine, with a super narrow up elevated stairs, ( hope not one slept ) and lack of ventilation, or air conditioner.
I would go somewhere else with the same price, just to have a...
Read moreBeautiful place, but poorly managed. The decoration is spot on and you should definitely go there, have a look and drink something small.. They bring the menu over bottles, which is an original idea but already first trap : the menu says the prices do not includes taxes. Well we are not in the USA, if you should display a price, you display the final price, not an intermediate value... Because of that I didn't dare to spend too much money, not knowing what I would expect in the end... I ask then for a starter, all good. a main "sorry we don't have it", well this is one of the first rules of managing a Restaurant, if you don't have it you don't put it on the menu or you at least inform the customer while giving the menu of what you have and don't... So that he doesn't spend 15min to pick something which is not available! I asked then for a drink and same issue they didn't have it... So I gave up and only got a starter (was delicious, the provoletta) and another drink. Their chimichurri was also really great (but the bread they gave for it wasn't... They tried to improve it with just the right amount of oil and salt but bad bread remained bad bread). I didn't judge the meat as they didn't have what I want, and the other choices were so expensive, that I could also eat it in my country... I eat meat everyday while I am in Colombia because it is usually cheap, if it isn't cheaper, nothing wrong with the meat back home and pointless to eat it...
Read moreCame here with a group of 12-14 people from the US. Had a wedding in Cartagena. We wanted to eat at La Cevichere but they were closed for remodeling. The next closet restaurant was MARZOLA. The outside attracted us with the decor and the actual pork belly that was grilling outside looked and smelled DELISH. So we decided to try this place.
Walking upstairs we saw the the inside decorations was on point and it felt very welcoming and like a BBQ joint but classier. We decided to share dishes. We got the chicken, porkbelly, steak, vegetables. The chicken was hands down the best meat dish. Beautiful flavors and very juicy. The porkbelly was too salty for our tastes but good flavor. Next time we will probably order the pork without extra seasoning on it. I don't really remember the steak but it wasn't bad. The grilled vegetables was pretty darn good. The sides that came out was the small fingerling potatoes and salad. Pretty good sides to compliment the meats. THE BEST PART OF THIS MEAL , THE CHIMICHURRI SAUCE. OH MY GAWDDDDD. IT WAS THE BOMB DOT COM!!!!
But yeah I would def recommend this place to large groups as they have...
