Marmi Ristorante — Restaurant in Santa Marta

I was excited to tryout the new location of the restaurant, but was disappointed with the service. It very difficult to get good service in Santa Marta but was expecting better from Marmi. The food wasn’t bad but noting special. I have been living Santa Marta for 8 years going back and forth to the USA. We visited all the best restaurants in Santa Marta and Marni isn’t one other them for us. They did a good job with design, it’s looks very nice, but they need to work on the service and improve their dishes. We had the octopus for appetizers and it was very hard… believe me I have octopuses In many different restaurants around the world and knows how it should be cooked. Also their cocktails wasn’t that good especially mind, I requested the bartender to make me a cocktail 🍹 with a little spice to it. It was terrible, i gave it back and they did changed me for it. The money wasn’t the issue it’s just to tell you how they thinks about their customer. If you are someone who really likes good and service I recommend other restaurants like Guasimu, and Serena Tropical, etc. you get better service and the food 🥘 is better. We visited on Friday for lunch, there were four people in our group. They welcomed our table with a complimentary basket of warm assorted breads. There were two orders of salmon cooked well done, I personally ordered the salmon ravioli and the other guest order shrimp. I request my ravioli to be cooked to a soft texture, more suave. It was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our meals and were delighted with a delicious treat. I believe it was a mango based cheesecake cake. The outside was made of some type of white or mango chocolate. Very nice to share. We also order a couple of desserts to go. I was unable to eat the carrot cake, they told me it was really really moist and bursting with flavor. I really love this apple crumb pie. It is truly the perfect balance of richness and sweetness. I come with ice cream which I cannot enjoy. I had a good meal here with my wife. Very good service.

We shared a huge Cesar salad, that was mediocre, but a huge portion. Glad we didn’t get an appetizer as we both left feeling full.

My wife had ravioli with a vey meaty bolognese sauce. It was vey good.

I had the spicy rigatoni but was disappointed in that I thought it included some sort of meat like pepperoni. Guess I didn’t read the menu which was in fine print carefully. I will say the flavor was good.

I thought the place to be a bit overpriced, since we didn’t order drinks, at nearly 200,000 pesos for the two us, and we ate pasta.

I’d bet they have some great steaks.
