Guajira Caribe Tours — Local services in Santa Marta

We did a day trip from Santa Marta to Minca and highly recommend it! We were able to book last minute and they kindly accommodated us by sending someone to our hotel to take our down payment. A taxi picked us up at our hotel the next morning and drove us 45 minutes to Minca. We loved our guide, Saddam (Sam); he was super friendly, knowledgeable, and fluent in English. We hiked to a waterfall, swam in the river, and he showed us a rock water slide. Then we also hiked to an organic coffee farm where Sam taught us about coffee production and we had a coffee. We saw many beautiful views and birds. Last, we hiked to a hostel where we had delicious (provided) lunch, heard about biodiversity from a biologist, and learned to make chocolate. Then, the company had a taxi ready to deliver us back to our hotel in Santa Marta and we arrived back around 5pm.

Overall, we highly recommend the company. They were professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

If you do the trip to Minca, we recommend wearing your swimsuit and being ready to swim and climb wet rocks. Also, prepare to be wet from rain— Sam says it rains most afternoons and that it’s normal to hike...

This place is a fraud! As a Colombian my apology for all those who have purchased a tour from this company. They don’t only lie to foreigners but their own people. They don’t care about reviews, feed back from their costumers. I was compelled to purchase a tour from this company in other to support a locals but never again. I was so happy with my tour agent she gave me the best deals, I had to haggle with everyone else and this was the only place that gave great deals. My tour guide was a guy named vicente was one of the coolest guys Ive ever known we whent into the mountains and to every beach around santa marta. P.s he was so cool when i got in trouble he said call him if i had problems, vicente was there in a flash no questions asked and i mean no questions, vicente knew the whole city in and out and he knew people at every corner not only did i have fun i felt secure.you could ask for him by name , the lady at the front desk will contact him his name is jose vicente , if hes not there anymore i am sure the lady at the desk will do her best because at the the other tour companys i never got the same quality of tours.
