Oliva Panadería & Pastelería — Restaurant in Santa Marta

I can't commend on the quality of the food as I didn't have any. I stopped by this morning to have a coffee and try some cake since I wanted to order a large birthday cake. I had never been to Oliva before so wanted to make sure the cake tastes nice before ordering a large one. When I walked in, there were no other customers, the staff just stared at me, and I felt very awkward. I waited for a minute or so ,but no one walked over to seat me or even say hello. I decided that I would rather not sit and have coffee/cake since the staff was so clearly not happy have a customer. As I still wanted to try the cake I walked up to the counter to see what they had. Finally a waiter approached, I smiled and asked if I could get some cake to go, and his response? NO. Just no, no smile, not I'm sorry we don't do To Go, or something friendly. I was so surprised I thought I misunderstood, so I asked again. And they only answer I got again was a rude NO. I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant/cafe. This place is amazing for your sugar fix. The desserts and bakery items are out of this world. The carrot cake is the best I’ve ever had—it’s a must if you visit. The limón tart cake is also excellent, especially if you need something for a birthday or a small gathering. This is my go-to spot in Santa Marta when I’m craving something sweet or want to treat friends to a high-quality dessert.

A very good bakery and restaurant I wanted to try their sourdough so i took the capresa sandwich with the sourdough bread which was good but toasted so i still didn’t taste it fresh as i wanted, the ingredients were good quality, although the cutting of the mozzarella and tomato could’ve been less rough.
