The water is nice to look at and listen to from a distance but I didn't attempt going in the water as the surrounding area is not very clean. I'm searching for a better beach nearby tomorrow.

Nice beach only 5 minutes walk from Center Santa Marta. You can hire a shade tent with chairs for 10,000 ( about $4 to $5 US dollars). You will have to negotiate the price down from 25,000. Also lots of cafeteria on the beach front and they do take a way food. Lots of hawkers selling food, drinks and beach towels. We purchased a large...

Not a place to swim for me, but you’ll see plenty of small children having the time of their lives. It’s a great place to come and relax and sit and enjoy the sunset, buy a beer from a local vendor, watch all the photo shoots, or stay to yourself and dance with your headphones...
