Casa Ru’U — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

We hired Lupita and Marilyn to do a private event for us. They came to our rental in Uvita and did a private cooking class - two Canadian families. The kids had a blast. It was our last night so we let Lupita know what food we had left and needed to use up (we had picked plantain on the property and had beef and fish we had bought the day before). She procured the extras and they spent 3 hours leading us through some great cooking techniques. Patacones with tuna tartare, rice, beans, beef fajitas and corn tortillas, fried swordfish, and "the best cake I ever had" from the mouth of my five year old. The food was amazing and they left the kitchen spotless. We had so much fun! Would 1000% recommend if you like to learn about new foods and to eat...

Lupita hosted six of my friends and me, and the food from Casa Ru was absolutely outstanding. We tried a variety of dishes, from ceviche to empanadas, and every single one was flavorful, unique, and, most importantly, fresh. She is also an incredible host, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend that anyone visiting the area...

Lupita’s food is a culinary experience. Her dishes are her art and are all made with pure love and care. For someone that wants to experience Costa Rican traditional food prepared on a higher level this is heaven.
