Coffee Cat Café — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

A fantastic addition to Uvita! This cafe not only helps cats get adopted but the educate people on how to properly care for cats here in a rainforest environment. They advocate keeping cats indoors so they are not reducing the bird population and also so they are safer. They help with neutering programs and leukemia vaccines. I had a cat die from leukemia but I am aware of how prevalent that disease is amongst cats. The cat room has very clear instructions on how to handle the cats and what to do and what not to do. What a great concept! The owners are passionate about finding housing for these lovely animals. The cats are well cared for and the staff are delightful. The food is wholesome and ample . The outdoor cafe setting with its flowered and shaded setting is a relaxing place for lunch or a cold/hot refreshing drink. I have great respect for the owner's altruism and love for these animals..they are special people and we are lucky to have them join...

If you love cats and great coffee - recommend you stop by! The new owners have a mission I can get behind - create a space with good food, good drinks, good people, and cats that are in need of new homes.

My wife and I got a couple of lattes (which were delicious) and got to play with a couple of happy cats. Even though we couldn't adopt them as we're just visiting, it was a highlight of our day. I wish there were more places like...
