A lot to unpack here. I visited last night (Saturday night, after 8pm.) Ordered, food was out promptly. While I would like to say the food was good, I can barely comment on that experience because of what took place right before us. There were 3 other tables here when we arrived, one being a solo man. He had what I'm guessing is the restaurants ' dog at his feet. He began conversation with us, which was fine, I'm friendly. Short conversation. Our food arrived, and when we began eating, he came over, asking if we had been at the music event happening in town this weekend... (we hadn't, I thought maybe he had been because I was beginning to notice he had been drinking or something was off).. it was then that he voiced his opinion on the show, the people who attended, etc, and began making small coversation about a table next to him that seemed to have attended the event. He walked away and we continued eating, however I noticed he began recording on his phone and it immediately made it uncomfortable because I wasn't sure which direction the camera was pointed at, my table or the one he was talking about previously. He began talking into the phone loudly, to the point the table he was pointed on, heard him and the vulgar names he was calling the table, and responded. The table had 4 women, and an older couple, minding their business. The verbal attacks on this group got worse, and worse, until the man was in the gentleman's face screaming and threatening them. A lot was said before 3 restaurant staff finally dragged him away and outside on the street, where he was still going. I did hear mention of calling the police, once, but it never happened. Eventually, for whatever reason, the staff allowed this extremely aggressive and belligerent man get close enough to the man from table to "talk" which did not go well by any means, which any sensible person could imagine since the guy NEVER stopped yelling at the top of his lungs and making physical threats to begin with. At this point anyone walking or driving by, stopped and was looking (it's an open air restaurant, so yeah). They separated these men (the solo instigator was the only one acting this way) and ALLOWED HIM TO SIT BACK AT HIS TABLE. screaming, threatening, talking down VERY POORLY AND ABUSIVLY towards the women who were getting up and running out at this point. His table was a table from mine. WHY? it took 3 men to get him out originally and he's allowed back?? I mean this guy was BAD, I've never seen anything like it, but it was borderline dangerous the way he was speaking to everyone, I can't repeat anything he said, it was THAT BAD. the staff did little to nothing and put everyone's safety and peace at risk. I had enough and requested the bill immediately, the woman working was scared and said she was sorry, but I just wanted to be gone. The only other table, a couple, did the same. This guy cleared the restaurant with his nonsense. People coming to eat turned around and watched in horror from their car.

The whole point of this is to say the staff needed to take better action. I don't know if he knew someone from the restaurant to result in him being allowed to return to his seat (with a staff member sticking by his side and trying to talk to him, which made no sense) but someone could've really gotten hurt here. It was very unnerving watching all of this unfold and see the lack of responsibility the staff took to diffusing this situation and fixing it before it got worse.

Too bad, the food looked good....

Really disappointed by this place. It had really good reviews but it didn’t live up to the expectations. We ordered a meat and rice dish however we wasn’t warned it had been cooked in the same pan as fish. My daughter has been spewing all evening due to the cross contamination. We also asked for the bill and was charged for extra sauce. The sauce we asked for wasn’t what we were given and in fact the same sauce that was on the table. It wasn’t until we said we wasn’t going to pay for the service bcc’d argue which was 4 times more than the sauce that they removed it. It was really very deceitful of them to do this. There are other places you can eat that are fantastic in the area. They don’t look at modern but are fabulous.it was also quite expensive for what it was, a plate of rice with beef and...

A MUST stop if you are near Uvita. We love this Resteraunt and the chefs/owner. Chef Hans & Chef Javier are the absolute best to get to know.

This is our second visit to Costa Rica. We met Hans as our personal chef at the villa we were staying in with family and friends. To say he is an amazing entrepreneurial young man is an understatement. We had to visit to say hello while in town, this time bringing our 3 boys with us to Costa Rica. I would consider Hans and Javier part of our extended family. When you meet then you’ll feel the same warmth.

Everything we ordered was Perfecto. Though not pictured (as I was too busy eating it) their mixed Ceviche is the very best around!!! You won’t be disappointed. Eat, stay and...

I came here last year around the same time, and I really liked the whole fried red snapper, so I decided to get the same, but this time however it was a HUGE disappointment. Fish had a weird smell and taste, clearly it was old, it was also dry as could be which made it really hard to cut. I would argue this is one of the WORST fried red snappers I’ve ever had. Wait time during peak hours is absurd, an hour of wait for a lame dish. Only reason why I decided not to dispute the tab was because it’s 31st of Dec, but 20k colones (~$40) for this was a rip off, no waiter asked how was the food nor apologized for the long wait.
