Green Jaguar — Restaurant in Cahuita

We found this restaurant and are so happy about it!! The staff is amazing, super friendly, they speak fluent English next to Spanish. The atmosphere is easy, chilled and very cozy, the restaurant is clean and super beautiful. I aswell had a look into the kitches which was spotless clean and hygenic aswell.

The food: OMG! We usually ate at Sodas before, where you get a relatively small plate with rice beans and minimum amout of vegetables. Then we discovered the green Jaguar! The plates are big and loaded with vegetables! And all for a reasonable price!! They have special deals every night, we came for Kebab Monday and the portion was big and super yummy!! Aswell I can recommend the shrimp mac and cheese (wow!) And the fish and chips and the yucca crockettes. There are many veggie/vegan options and for not much more money than you would pay at a soda for less quality food.

HIGHLY Recommend!! I go here weekly with friends. Great happy hours. Chill vibes. The drinks are delicious: my favorite drinks are the dragon fruit daiquiri with rum and the spicy margarita on the rocks. They have excellent service even when it’s busy. : I’ve never had a bad meal there. favorite dishes are the chicken parmigiana, the crispy chicken sandwich with cheese fries on the side, the shrimp mac and cheese, and the lamb burger. They also have an amazing co-working space upstairs with a back up generator if the power goes out. If you enjoy live music with a soulful and sultry vibe you will enjoy Anjé singing at Green Jaguar. The ambience is perfect. Anjé can SING, performing soulful covers that captures the audience. I hope this is a weekly performance we can all look forward to. I had the pleasure of listening to Anjé perform this past Friday night and Claudio holding it down on keyboard..As always the food, drinks, and service at Green...

WOW! Literally still sitting in the restaurant as I write this review, that’s how much I enjoyed my meal! The atmosphere of this gastropub is very cool and the food is some of the best in all of Puerto Viejo. We had the lamb burger and the shepherds pie and had our fries with all of the sauces they offer. The lamb burger was so delicious and we 100% plan on getting our burgers here in the future whenever we have the craving. We had the mushroom sauce with our fries and burger and omg it’s sooo amazing! We asked for a refill on the sauce🤤 If you wanna drink they have a great beer selection, as any good gastropub should!
