Hola! If you enjoy good home cooked dishes that scream of flavor and deliciousness, this is the place for you.

Nestled on an unassuming side street, this outdoor seated joint will open your eyes and stomach to a whole new world. Each dish was phenomenal- honestly, can’t go wrong with any dish. Across a span of two days (this was how impressionable the food was), these were the dishes that we tried and loved:

Pollo with rice and beans (under the Carribean section): Holy guacamole, this dish was life changing. I would dub this the “do not judge a book by its cover dish”. Initially a demure looking piece of chicken, after one bite, WHOA. A party has officially started. The coconut flavors interlaced each fiber of the chicken. Spices and notes of thyme further enhanced this to another dimension. Coupled with the most flavorful rice and beans I’ve ever tasted and the freshest salad to date- I was in love. So much that I dreamt about this the same night-similar to what I would imagine when I’ve met an impressionable date who has yet to be met. Make sure to get the spicy sauce (which isn’t actually that spicy and adds an extra pow flavor to this already magical dish).

I don’t want to lose your attention here so diving into the must orders, but make sure to also get the chifrijo (fried pork skin with rice/beans/pico de gallo), the horchata milk shake, the fresh passion fruit and mango juice, arroz con leche, churro and Costa Rican Classic squash with ginger and honey. Heck- just order everything.

To make this place even more likable, the sisters/master chefs/owners were the sweetest most welcoming people ever. I entered as a stranger and left with a feeling of having a Costa Rican family.

Thank you D’ mi Tierra for such a memorable dining experience that I will forever cherish. I will be back...

My gf and I came here for dinner somewhat last minute after looking at reviews and we were absolutely not disappointed. I ordered the tamarind drink (delicious) and she ended up ordering the cas fruit drink (not on the menu) at the suggestion of the restaurant owner. The drinks were both very refreshing and sweet. I would recommend getting a fruit drink here (and at any of the restaurants in La Fortuna). As for food, I ordered the garden rice with an egg. My food was good, no doubt. I was satisfied and even happy with it, it my gf ordered the rice and beans with grilled chicken filet. I had some of hers and it was perhaps the tastiest serving of rice and beans I have ever had in my life. The rice is cooked in coconut milk, which adds a richness and flavor that is next level. Also, the grilled chicken was tender, juicy, and super flavorful, as it should be when prepared well. Additionally the egg that was added to my dishes was cooked over medium. I thought it might have been cooked into the rice but that wasn’t clear beforehand. Lastly, we ordered churros which were prepared fresh (every single thing at this restaurant is prepared fresh but just saying it again for emphasis) and we loved those! Forgot to take a pic tho sadly.

To anyone reading this, I would say, unless you have a food allergy, your first meal from this place should be the rice and beans with chicken IT IS THAT GOOD. And the lady who owns the restaurant is so so sweet and friendly. I will be...

Absolutely LOVED this place. Every place we've eaten has been great but this place really topped the charts by a landslide. The food, the friendly owners, the vibe, the cute outdoor seating and everything in between...ahhh I will miss this place once I fly home. I visited two days in a row for the rice & beans with chicken. I would've come back for a third day in a row but they are not open on Wednesdays.

The rice & beans with chicken may look unassuming but trust me, every part of that dish is PACKED with flavor. The chicken is so juicy and cooked to perfection with a slight crisp, blooming with spice and savory goodness. And my gosh the rice and beans??? I didn't know rice and beans could be so flavorful!! This plate of food was life changing. The fruit juices were also so refreshing on a hot day and not too sweet! I had both the mango and passion fruit ones. All the desserts were great as well, you really can't go wrong with anything here.

Everything was an awesome portion for a hungry person with reasonable prices, but most of all unbeatable flavor. I wish I had a place like this at home, I would eat here all the time if I could!! Thank you for the...

The most delicious and authentic food!! Tica (Costa Rican) owned & operated restaurant with great food choices, including traditional Caribbean food that took me back to my visit to Limón, Costa Rica. The sisters are so welcoming and inviting. And they know exactly what they are doing in the kitchen. We enjoyed delicious fresh fruit drinks and even fresh basil picked from the garden right in front of us. They were also so kind to share lots of information about visiting Costa Rica, and their love for the country is contagious. They are a family friendly restaurant a minute away from the town square, which makes parking even easier. They were even welcoming of our fur baby! Do not miss out on this place! Delicious food, friendly environment, local business, and kind staff…definitely a must visit! Update on 3/22/25 this place still rocks with an updated menu these two ladies still haven’t lost a step. Still produces quality food and the best service in la fortuna. So worth the visit locally owned and operated. Proud to see them grow their business and not lose a step
