Suwa Villa Arenal was an absolute gem—beautiful, cozy, and just the right mix of luxurious and down-to-earth. We were greeted with fresh coconut water (loved that touch!), and the whole vibe felt super thoughtful and well put together. The villa had everything we needed: a full shared kitchen, on-site laundry with Tide Pods, even little things like disposable razors. The only thing missing was lotion, but honestly, everything else was so complete it didn’t matter.
The property only has six villas, so it feels intimate and peaceful. There's a jacuzzi and fire pit for guests, plus each room has its own little patio with chairs. I appreciated the organic and natural products used throughout ♥ Netflix was already logged in on the TV, and water in the minibar was free and restocked daily.
It’s just a short walk (200 meters!) from the town with food, shops, and excursions—though Uber is insanely cheap if you're not feeling the walk. And I can’t forget the hosts—they were incredibly kind and welcoming. Suwa was perfect. Would absolutely stay again.
ALSO I stayed at Baldi Hot Springs Resort, and honestly? Suwa Villa is 10x better. Baldi is great for a day pass to enjoy the springs, but the rooms there are pricey and...
Read moreI would highly recommend staying at Suwa Villa Arenal. The property seems new and nice. I believe the property only consists of 6 villa style rooms. I booked my reservation via Expedia. They were very responsive on Expedia, asking me for information prior to check-in and my arrival time. They asked few times the day prior and the day of to confirm my arrival time, which I suspect they want to make a good impression. Based on my transportation, I initially said 12pm, but later changed to 1pm or 2pm, but they did not seem to have any issue with it. In the end, I arrived at around 12:20pm, and rang the bell. A staff showed up to the front to greet me, showed us around the premise, then brought me to the back for orientation and served us coconut water. The staff then took us to our room, showed us how to use the safe, told us Netflix is included and informed us that she could be reach at whatsapp. If there is anything urgent, to knock on her door which she stays out back by the laundry room. The room smelled great when we entered, the bed was comfortable, everything was excellent. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again if we travel to La Fortuna again. Highly...
Read moreI am very disappointed with this experience. I booked four nights at the hotel via Agoda in February, but had to shorten my stay to three nights. When I contacted the hotel, I was informed that the booking could not be changed. However, they assured me that if the room was rebooked, I would receive a refund for the unused night.
I took it upon myself to help get the room rebooked by posting about its availability in two Facebook groups. On the evening before my check-out, the hotel confirmed that the room had been successfully rebooked and that I would receive a refund via PayPal in the following days.
I immediately sent the hotel my PayPal email address and have been waiting for the payment ever since—this was on February 9. Unfortunately, I have not received any refund to date, and my repeated attempts to contact the hotel via email and SMS have gone unanswered.
The hotel's behavior is extremely unprofessional and very...
