The hotel is in a great little town with beautiful volcanic views and i great location perfectly tucked away from the busy main road but only 3 short blocks from it. Definitely gives you a local feel when you walk around. On & near the main road are all types of sodas (cheap local eateries), local super markets, souvenirs shops, a bank and gas station. The mini super is like 10 minute walk and made me feel like a local.
The hotel is like a garden. Small place with maybe a total of 20 rooms. They all have big front windows with sliding glass doors for the entrance. You can lay on you bed and see amazing thing such as the garden. Pool party , mountains or the Volcano. Ones resting creature in the garden too, green parrots, lizards and iguanas, big toads and some butterflies. Beautiful flowers 🌺
Joe was the receptionist mainly during my stay and she was the sweetest and very helpful. They have a welcome drink that is amazing, I believe it’s mango juice freshly made 🤤 go to the mini super and get a decent sized bottle of vodka for like $5 in colones and you have yourself a nice drink.
Included breakfast buffet which is delicious, pinto gallo, scrambled eggs and then meat rotates (I think) & other things like cereal, milk, coffee, fruit and toast and stuff. The sliced fruit it sooooooo juicy. I get a bowl full of pineapple and I’m having s great morning. Also fresh orange juice that’s yummy.
Pool is a lot deeper than you think, don’t fool yourself. It’s warm water which flows in & out of the “jacuzzi area” connected onto the pool. Same temp but as hot as Costa Rica is, it feels good and great at night.
The shower pressure is amazing!!! Water can go cold randomly but I take it as helping me cool off bc Costa Rica is hooooot.
They have mini fridge for the vodka. Or whatever ya know. Nice sized TV, didn’t watch so idk what channels. Spaciously simple rooms. Needing is perfect for the weather to.
Free WiFi even in the rooms in very nice.
One thing I can get over is their A/C in the rooms is remote controlled and you can set it on turbo and direct it toward you. A/C is so cold and nice! Very nice to have in Costa Rica ... and another plus... it didn’t smell like a A/C in common humid / hot areas where it can get moldy. No smell at all .
Calle 466 where the silver key point on the map. Stay here ! Even if it’s just for a night or 2. You won’t forget it, La Fortuna is amazing and this hotel is the prefect place to stay and great prices.
Goldie locks approved ! Everything...
Read moreWe stayed here in October for 3 days in this tucked away and quiet hotel. Part of the hotel was being renovated but no loud noise after hours. The room was a little old but everything essential is there. The soap, shampoo and conditioner is sufficient, but no amentity kit or extra water. A clothes rack is provided so able to hang wet clothes (e.g. from the rain). No onsite laundry service but the hotel can send out clothes to 3rd party laundrmat. 3 breakfast options available with a nice fruit plate to start, then 1. Rice/beans; 2. pancakes and bacon; 3. toasts and sausages. All with choice of 2 eggs; all made to order. Juice and coffee and tea also avalable. The best part of the hotel is the resident family of sloths! Don't have to pay for a tour to see them. Hotel staff more than happy to show wild life around the hotel, including frogs, birds and of course the sloths (well, mostly just their fur)! We get to see the sloths everyday and said goodbye to them when we left. Maybe because we were there during low season, hotel also offered a 1 day tour for $110, included 4 activities. We had already booked elsewhere in advance for 2x as much - so maybe ask them about their tour deals before booking seperately. I...
Read moreLauren was SUPER helpful even before I arrived in Costa Rica from helping me find a photographer, set an appointment for the COVID test (which was done from the convenience of my room), and helped with translating with my Uber driver from San Jose to La Fortuna. She was amazing honestly. Best customer service I have ever received in my life.
The breakfast here is so good! I did not even expect it to be that much for the price but it is very filling.
The location of the hotel is next to many restaurants, laundry, a spa and more. It's easy for taxis and Ubers to find which was super convenient.
There is a restaurant service at the hotel with drinks, which I found to be nice and convenient.
The property is also GORGEOUS, pools are great!
My Instagram is @beingchristinajane if you want more specific details on my overall trip to Costa Rica, prices on everything!
I would stay here again!
This is not a con, but the rooms were pretty basic. I don't really care, but just a note to make! Still very clean and comfortable to be in, but maybe instead of the tabletop and bar, add a desk and chair for working guests!
The Wi-Fi was pretty strong when it worked, but it did go in and out at times, not to the point where my work...
