After a long, grueling day soaking in the hot springs at Baldy (tough work, I know), we left starving. The food at Baldy? Letâs just say itâs touristy basic, resort-style, and light on flavor. We needed something real. Thatâs when we found Mexikah Taqueria in La Fortuna.
Marcelo, the owner, clearly knows his craft because these tacos were as close to authentic Mexican street food as youâll find outside of Mexico. The flavors were bold and perfectly balanced, with meats that were cooked to perfection. Plus, theyâve got a great selection of hot sauces to match whatever spice level youâre feeling, and even a nice beer selection to wash it all down.
The setup is charming, everything is served out of a beautifully styled food truck in a food court area that feels cozy yet lively. Itâs the perfect spot to grab a bite after exploring La Fortuna.
If youâre in town and craving something packed with flavor, skip the bland resort food and head straight to Mexikah. Marcelo has created something special, and it shows in every bite. We left full, happy, and wondering when we...
Read moreIf youâre hunting for authentic Mexican cuisine with a view that complements every bite, Mexikah Taqueria in La Fortuna is your go-to spot! We were absolutely blown away by their barria tacosâeach bite was a burst of rich, perfectly seasoned flavors that took my taste buds on a journey. The guacamole was equally impressive, fresh and packed with just the right touch of zesty lime.
Our little one tried the cheese quesadilla, which was a hitâsimple yet so satisfying with its gooey, melted cheese. The highlight for me was their house-made salsas. The red salsa had just enough kick without overpowering the dishes, and the green salsa was refreshingly tangy, adding a delightful punch.
Everything from the friendly service to the relaxed atmosphere made our visit to Mexikah Taqueria a memorable one. We canât wait to come back for more of those tacos and that stunning volcano view in...
Read moreWas pleasantly surprised with the quality of tacos we got. We just had done the La Fortuna Waterfall hike and Mistico Hanging bridges and were looking for a bite to eat and found this off of the main road and gave it a shot.
Ordered the beef birria tacos and vegetarian taco and they were delicious. Highly flavourful and came out piping hot. Once you order, they give you a remote which beeps once your food is ready - took about 10 minutes. As for drinks, we got the Jamaica Juice - which was surprisingly refreshing (it was our first time trying it) and a beer. It was a good meal for the price and would recommend Mexican Taqueria to others.
Other things to note: there is plenty of parking right outside the food truck and easy to access. Not much seating outdoors however there is also indoor (canopy) seating / food court...
