Updating based on the response I just received:

I have been emailing All Tours Costa Rica for the past month trying to reach someone. They have not acknowledged my correspondence once. I was SCAMMED by this company who confirmed my bookings, accepted my payment, and then when the activity began demanded I pay them AGAIN in order to do the activity I signed up for and refused to let anyone in the group move forward until they successfully shook me down. Douglas sits outside on the main street downtown waiting for tourists to walk by so he do this to them, and is the person who swindled me.

I booked 2 full days of activities with All Tours Costa Rica after meeting DOUGLAS on the street in downtown La Fortuna. I really trusted Douglas. He gave me his contact information and I was thrilled to meet someone who I felt I could trust to organize all activities while in Costa Rica. I was SO wrong. The first day went smoothly, and all of the guides/naturalists that I had were A+. During our conversations, we confirmed MULTIPLE times exactly what I was signing up for and the cost. Then, in the middle of one of the activities with my group DOUGLAS appears out of no where, and demands cash from me in order to continue to the next activity. I showed him and our guide our texts confirming the cost and what was included, but he would not budge and they refused to allow the group to continue until his shake down was successful. After re-reading our texts, I can see how Douglas communicated vaguely, and avoided questions so he could take advantage of me later. While the activities were great, this completely RUINED the experience for myself and our group. I even said I did not want the lunch that was part of the day, and they could use any funds towards whatever Douglas was demanding, however Douglas forced us to go to the lunch spot despite our dismay. Our naturalist, Junior, was amazing. Unfortunately I could barely enjoy the experience after being completely scammed.

Words of caution: Just do not book anything through DOUGLAS, as he may surprise you with a shakedown mid-activity and ruin the entire day. Upon doing more research, it seems Douglas' theft is a pattern, which is another reason they coerce travelers to pay cash.

I booked the full day tour with this company which included the waterfall, hanging bridges, volcano hike and volcano Hot springs. Our day started out with a hostel pickup which arrived exactly on time. Our tour guide was called Junior I highly recommend him, he is a true passionate professional. We started off with the beautiful waterfall which you can swim in if you want. After we left for the hanging bridges this was the part where I was most impressed if you go in there without a guide you will never see any animals. But our guide Junior spotted everything birds, sloths, tarantulas, snakes etc. thanks to his telescope we were able to see and take beautiful pictures of the animals we saw in close up, he was so knowledgeable about all the creatures!!! The hanging bridges tour included a buffet meal once the visit was over which was delicious. Next we headed to the volcano trail where we entered a secret forest path where we saw the Tucans and other beautiful pictures birds. Once through the first we learned about the volcano eruptions which was very educational. The tour ended with a visit at the Los Lagos resort where we could relax for three hours in the Hot springs at which point the shuttle came to pick us up and brought us back to our hostel.

All Tours Costa Rica was excellent from start to finish! From the moment we booked our first tour to the volcano and hanging bridges, followed by white water rafting, zip lining, canyoning, the sloth tour, and a visit to the island of Tortuga, everything was perfect. Each tour was scheduled with transportation, snacks, water and a meal. Each guide was exceptional and helpful, ensuring we felt comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed every experience.

From the first day, Junior and Douglas were friendly and enthusiastic, energizing everyone for the long volcano tour. Their welcoming attitude made us feel at ease with the rest of the group. Because of this positive experience, I canceled all my other tours and rebooked everything with All Tours Costa Rica.

I highly recommend them; they adjusted our schedule to fit in a remarkable number of activities within just six days! All the guides were engaging, talkative, and incredibly knowledgeable. Thanks to Junior, we learned so much about the volcano, wildlife, and Costa Rica’s history from day one.
