Deserves all of the rave reviews! Definitely get the patacones appetizer, they were excellent! I got the tilapia, which was really good too. Because the tilapia comes with patacones and we got them as an appetizer, I asked if I could swap my side of patacones for a side of ceviche instead. They said no, which first surprised me because ceviche is less expensive than patacones on the appetizer menu. But the side was simply plain patacones with bean dip (unlike the appetizer), so then it made sense. But it would have been nice if they explained why they couldn't accommodate my request, instead of simply saying "no". They also didn't accommodate our other request. My mom wanted the BBQ ribs but was concerned their sauce might be spicy, so she asked to try a little taste first. They said that the sauce wasn't spicy and they couldn't give a taste. My mom is extremely sensitive to spice; many times someone will say something isn't spicy, and then it is. Without being able to try it, my mom decided to order something else. Maybe there was a valid reason why they couldn't give a taste, but they didn't provide it. And maybe they didn't provide it because of the language barrier, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But it was unexpected, and was the first time my mom has had that type of request declined at a restaurant. Our dining experience at Vikingo in La Fortuna was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and provided outstanding service throughout our meal.

We ordered the Caribbean Chicken and the Casados Vikingos, and both dishes were incredible! The Caribbean Chicken was perfectly seasoned, offering a delightful blend of spices that highlighted the essence of Costa Rican cuisine. The Casados Vikingos was a feast for the senses, with generous portions that included a variety of traditional elements beautifully presented on the plate.

The flavors were rich and authentic, making every bite a delight. The attention to detail in both the preparation and presentation was evident, and the freshness of the ingredients shone through in every dish.
