Restaurante Mira Olas — Restaurant in Quepos

My friend and I decided to try somewhere new and neither of us have been to Mira Olas. I ordered pinto, platano maduro, tomato, and aguacate. My friend ordered an omelette with pinto. When my food arrived, it didn't have maduro and my friend's plate had bread instead of rice. She asked the server to change the bread for the pinto she had ordered and I asked for the maduro I had ordered. The server changed my friend's plate and told me there were no maduros and that's why there wasn't any on my plate. That's something that should have been communicated up front, not when the food is delivered. The food itself was not that great compared to other restaurants. And my bill? 1500 colones for pinto, 1500 colones for 4 slices of avocado, and 800 colones for 4 slices of tomato. I can get double the food (and it's delicious!) for half the price at my favorite breakfast place on the beach. My friend and I agreed we won't be back. ~Rainbow rolls are not worth the price at all- mostly lettuce, could barley see or taste the salmon. Peanut sauce was tasty tho. ($20 CAD- yikes) ~Casado was the best for value, but the flavours didn’t really go together. Chose Mahi mahi with it and it was over salted and fishy. ($15 CAD -filling at least) *Do not order the Bloody Mary- even if you’re craving one. 0/10. ~Strawberry daiquiri was mediocre-didn’t taste like fresh fruit at all. Syrup probably. Overall we found the menu pretentious, pricy, and very underwhelming. Service was alright, he was friendly but they never quality check here- if you want something you better flag someone down. But...

Was disappointed with here, it came highly recommended by my accommodation. Cevice starter had far too much pickled onions in it, and the onions themselves were way over sweetened. Also my main course came out before I'd even finished my starter. Service was friendly, if a little slow sometimes, but to be fair it was just one guy working the bar and the floor at the same time. 2 for 1 cocktails was good value, and the margaritas were good.
