The boat provided a breezy and comfortable cruise, accommodating various activity levels within our group – a welcome alternative for those not keen on strenuous hikes. What truly set this tour apart was Jose’s commitment to environmental preservation. Unlike other tours that fed monkeys for entertainment, Jose enlightened us on the importance of non-interference, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of wildlife in its natural habitat. This respect for nature was further emphasized by Costa Rica’s policy against touching animals, which Jose wholeheartedly upheld.

The wildlife sightings were extraordinary – from sloths and monkeys to crocodiles, lizards, birds, snakes, and more. We booked yesterday a kayak tour for 2 persons for this morning 9am and were very exited about it. Once we arrived the kayak guide, his name was Memo, was really on edge and asked to double check our reservations as soon as we stepped out of the car and to be honest we were quite surprised by the way he welcomed us. Then he demanded in a very stressful way to test our abilities to handle a kayak which we can understand but with no serious instructions. When I asked him several times to use kind and empathetic tone and not a stressful tone he recommended we stop the tour which we finally approved. We left and he was just laughing at us. We didn’t deserve to be treated this way, it is our worst experience in Costa Rica. If Memo wasn’t happy about doing the Kayak tour with us it is just fine but don’t laugh at us and don’t ashame us - again we didn’t deserve that. I have requested Paypal to reimbourse us and I hope they will honest about it.
