Sorry , I do not understand how this place got any good reviews . This is the most basic accommodation, but fits the nature of Quepos....run down, grubby, but close to Manuel Antonio. ||So where do I start, the proprietress was good enough to show 3 rooms, some had only fans and beds and dingy overhead lightbulbs. Eventually she showed off a room with an air conditioner that was about as old as the sad looking parrot in the cage near the outdoor reception.||This room had 2 beds, a single and a double, with well worn mattresses, that might have been 2 inches thick. The sheets appeared clean. Then there was the washroom, not all rooms had washrooms, which was barely large enough for one person to occupy. The shower door was not attached properly , but since there was no hot water (despite a menacing electrical contraption attached to the shower head) it almost didnt matter. The vent window in the washroom was missing all the glass, and insects were kept out by a small curtain wedged against the frame. This room was on the second floor with a balcony overhanging the street. It wasnt too noisy , except for the odd motorcycle, unless you turned off the air conditioner, at which point most conversations on the street were quite clear||The tv worked, but the room was beyond wifi range, wifi was available in the...
Read moreQuepos is a small touristy town. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the touristy center and the bus terminal.||The hotel has several rooms of different quality. This review is for rooms in the original (old) building behind reception.||There was pleasant front yard with seating area. Although it is located on a street which can get fairly noisy during the day the hotel was quiet. My private room with shared bathroom was clean but very dated. It only had bed, table and a window. What was really missing was a fan. The room was very hot, humid and had musty smell. There must have been moisture or even mold in the walls. It was not apparent at first but after the door was closed for a while it got very bad. I had to sleep with the door open. There were two smallish shared bathrooms. Both were clean and both had a shower. ||This is a family run hotel and the staff was very nice. Breakfast and Wi-Fi were included. Wi-Fi was not very strong and was inconsistent. I did not like my room and left the next morning. I suspect that rooms in other parts of this hostel are better. This can be good hotel but you should look carefully at your room before...
Read moreWe actually checked into this hotel on accident, the bus driver dropped us off at the Ceciliano when our reservation was for the location next door but didn't realize it until long after we settled in! The hotel is quite inexpensive....2 beds in a small room with AC and private shower and toilet runs 30 bucks a night, but they have different set ups here with less accomodations such as shared toilet and no AC which are a lot less. During our stay here, we did not see other other "tourists" in the hotel. All were Ticos. There is an option to buy breakkast (typical). The receptionists were polite. Be aware that little to no is English spoken as the place does not routinely cater to tourists. One big advantage of this location is that it is near the center of town and bus station. If you are into staying at a basic budget hotel, this place is OK...but if you want 5-star accomodation, you are better off going up the hill to...
