L'insolito — Restaurant in Grad Poreč

So, where do we start... We went here twice in the summer of 2020.

This place and its owners are very special. The reception wholeheartedly, welcoming and reassuring. The whole family works in the restaurant and all they care about is happiness of their guests. Tables (in the summer) are arranged outside, in a busy but cosy side-street, without cars.

The menu is a comprehensive coverage of Istria and Northern Italy, with the extra touch of great beef and burgers. We liked the tuna tartare and carpaccio from the starters, the black seafood spaghetti and spaghetti vongole and of course the grilled sea-bass and the burgers from the main course. The homemade chocolate mousse was a delicacy.

We were headed to somewhere else for dinner, but it was getting late in the evening and their kitchen was closed. So we turned up at L'insolito having done no research. They were happy to seat us, 30 minutes before closing. The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. My hirlfriend had the homemad Gnocci with truffle, and it was the best gnocci, I have ever tasted. The bruschetta witch anchovies was just anchovies on toasted bread, which dodnt look vey appetising, so they took them away and added chopped tomatoes, then it was amazing. The best restaurant in Poreč – L’insolito!

The food at L’insolito is simply delicious, every bite tells a true gourmet story. I especially want to highlight the excellent service – the hosts are incredibly kind and attentive, and the staff led by Massimo Bregu is a perfect example of professionalism and warmth. We felt right at home, and any recommendation for this restaurant is an understatement for all they offer.
