The same friend that suggested the Taj Mahal in Dubrovnik suggested Fife to us in Split! It’s right at the end of the beautiful boardwalk Riva. Great location! It was a Tuesday night but it was packed! All the outdoor seating was full so we took a seat inside. It was really windy so we didn’t mind at all. The outdoor patio was beautiful though. A great sea side vibe as it looked right onto the Adriatic. It’s a neat layout because they have two buildings that run kitty corner to each other too. They serve a local cuisine (which is always what we look for). The food here is good but the price is even better! Definitely a cheaper option than any other place we found in Split! I had the sea bass which came with mixed veggies and some mash (81kn = £9.27 and Trevor had a meat platter that came with chips (69kn = £7.89). Overall good experience if you’re looking for local and cheap!

I had an incredible dining experience at Buffet Fife in Split! The food was amazing – we tried the fried squid, chicken fillet with mushroom sauce, and grilled sea bream, and each dish was absolutely perfect. To complement our meal, we ordered both beer and wine, and they paired wonderfully with our dishes. What made this meal truly outstanding was not just the food, but also the welcoming atmosphere and the fantastic vibe of the place. It was clear that the staff put a lot of effort into creating a warm and enjoyable environment for diners. And to top it all off, the pricing was incredibly reasonable. This restaurant offers not just delicious food but also great value for the quality and experience you receive. I can't recommend it enough – it was a perfect dining experience!

Beware - Overrated Tourist Trap I discovered this restaurant about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. When I returned last year I was disappointed but I thought maybe it was just and off day, so when friends said let's try it out one more time, why not. Big mistake! This restaurant is a victim of its pass success, the restaurant is not about to handle the large volume of business, seating people at dirty tables, we were seated this evening with two sisters and they ordered a rice dish which arrived less them 5 minutes later, the two women were clearly disappointed with the pre-made dish. Our dish arrived shortly after and it was a grilled meat dish that tasted like a block of sea salt. The one dish was fried calamari with French fries and they ask that they fries be crisp not soggy of course even the fries were rushed, clearly cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough. He could have received better French fries at McDonald's. The mixed salad was pre-cut vegetables from a machine and threw in a bowl. I know Croatia mainly Split has become a tourist trap as far a food which is sad. However this lack of effort and just throwing bad food on a table to customers who know they have limited choices is unacceptable in the culinary world and the restaurant owner should be ashamed of herself/himself. Additional the restaurant is understaffed and they are not welcoming at all. I blame the owners once again. To be honest I won't feed my dog the food we received. The only reason this restaurant stays busy is the fact they have no real competition. As I left I told 2 people looking at the restaurant don't eat here as they looked at the tables. They thanked me and went elsewhere. My advice to anyone traveling to Split is save your money rent an apartment like I did this time, buy real food from a supermarket and cook a nice meal for your. Croatia has a lot to learn before becoming a food destination. It's a real shame a seaside, beautiful place with no real world class restaurants, or even good down to earth cooking. There is more to the culinary world then, pizza, grilled salted meats, hamburgers and pasta.

Nice terrace, good (dalmatian) menu, friendly staff. Cash only. We had lunch here with the two of us. The waiter who helped us spoke proper English. The menu is extensive and has many local dishes. You can order complete meals or you can assemble your own by combining smaller dishes. The food is good. Even with a 3/4 full terrace we did not have to wait long. When being served the waiter explained where the meat and cheeses came from. Next to that we had some pasta, stuffed peppers, bread and a meatplatter. All excellent prepared and great taste. The place is a bit outside the massive crowded areas, but there are enough pedestrians to look at. There is also enough shade to sit comfortably cool but there are sunny seats as well.

Nice place, great staff. We got the tuna pate, fried squid and bread. We came for a snack but it ended up being pretty much our dinner. The squid came with fries which was a pleasant surprise. Food was lovely and the house wine was fantastic and very cheap. We got a litre of it between two and by the end of our meal it was pretty much gone. We live in Scotland so the name amuses us and made our decision to eat here. We originally wanted to go to “The Old Terrace” next door but it looked abandoned/closed. Maybe not open yet for summer, but it was 1st June. The squid was great too, loads of it and lovely mayonnaise dip. And the bread was very nice indeed. Great place.
