Very disappointing birthday experience.
My gf took me here to celebrate my birthday but this restaurant performed very poorly and didn't really made my birthday any better. We had pasta with salmon and spaghetti carbonara. My dish with salmon was too salty, bad salmon quality and they must have used the worst quality cooking creme ever, because I haven't tasted nothing like it...completely bland and tasteless with so much salt in it. My gf had spaghetti carbonara, where again cooking cream was horrible, too much salt in the sauce and I'm sure they don't know how to make a proper carbonara since there were no signs of egg yolks in the sauce. However the bacon was okay and spaghetti were cooked nicely but the sauce as the main thing with carbonara let us down. We also asked the waitress for a cheese before we dug into our dishes. She said "one moment we have Parmigiano". When she brought it we put the so called "parmagiano" on our pasta but we instantly figured this cheese was nothing like parmagiano and was totally awful and tasteless. Our waitress was very funny and polite and I can't say nothing bad against her. Prices were also pretty high for this mediocre service and quality of food. Bad experience. To sum up this review: Food is bad, too salty, no taste and poor quality, staff very friendly and polite. Dishes only look good but the taste is really REALLY OFF! I wouldn't recommend it, specially for the birthday experience... UPDATE: If you don't want diarrhea from the cooking cream that they use do not visit! (We both rushed to the toilet when...
Read moreWe had the small room on the same floor as the "lobby," which is upstairs behind the restaurant (one goes through the restaurant and up the stairs to the back to get in).||||The hotel location was great, just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the old town. Parking on the street was not a problem - we arrived mid-day and found a spot on the street very close by and later moved the car to almost right in front of the restaurant.||||The bedroom itself was small, but there was a small side room with a desk which we used as a oversized closet (we did not use the small closet in the entry hallway). There was no minifridge in the room. The bathroom was small but functional. The towels were a bit coarse, but that is because they dry them on a clothes lines (we saw this from the deck upstairs - there are no good views from the deck, as they are blocked by other buildings).||||As for a night's sleep, it was decent. We had our windows open slightly, but noise from the restaurant was not a problem. We could hear the children who were staying upstairs run up and down the staircase. Also, a neighbor's dog barked late into the night.||||As mentioned, we were only there for one night, and it suited...
Read moreThe owner & staff of this place are very nice & friendly. The rooms are right above their restaurant so it was quite convenient for lunch or dinner, and the place is only about a 10min walk to Old Town Zadar. There is a small supermarket about a 5min walk away, on the way to the old town, for stocking up on water, drinks, snacks, etc. If you are coming in by bus as I did, note that it's about a 30min walk from the bus station to get here, but there are plenty of metered taxis waiting at the bus station, so getting here shouldn't be a problem. The room I stayed in was huge, as was the bathroom, and overall, it was comfortable. There is no mini-fridge in the room, but there is a big refrigerator in the common area that guests can use. I stayed here for 3 nights and it was good overall.||||Although they have a restaurant & it was open by 8am, breakfast wasn't available until after 8:30am, since the cook wasn't there yet. Since I had to leave early, I just ended up quickly having coffee & some bread/jam. So if you have an early tour or check out planned, it's best to prepare in advance for your...
