We stumbled upon Jadera Traditional Restaurant while exploring the heart of Zadar, and what a gem we found! From the moment we walked in, the warm, authentic atmosphere completely won us over — cozy, relaxed, and full of charm.
The food? Simply divine. We had the squid risotto and the lamb, and both were absolutely out of this world. The risotto was rich and perfectly cooked, with tender pieces of squid that melted in the mouth. The lamb was unbelievably flavorful — juicy, slow-cooked perfection with every bite. You can truly taste the love and heritage in every dish.
But what made our evening truly exceptional was our waitress. Her kindness, professionalism, and effortless grace made us feel not just welcome, but genuinely cared for. She managed that beautiful balance of attentiveness and ease, always appearing at the right moment with a smile, ready to help or recommend something amazing. It’s rare to meet someone who clearly takes pride in what they do — she truly elevated the whole experience.
We left full, happy, and already planning our return. Thank you, Jadera, and especially to the lovely lady who made us feel so special. This place is a must if you’re...
Read moreWe had the most amazing dinner here last night! We had to wait around 30 minutes for a table, but that was no problem for us and the owner (who was hosting for the night) was very kind and apologetic about the wait. We were able to order a bottle of wine while we waited. The view of a 12th century church from where we were waiting was gorgeous enough to keep us entertained until we were seated.
Our waiter, Zuza, was so friendly and helpful and recommended a beef and gnocchi dish which was incredible! Zuza was very attentive during the entire meal and great with suggestions. We also had really delicious fish soup and a plate of cold traditional local appetizers including marinated shrimp, tuna pate, cheese, prosciutto, and olives. Bread was served with local olive oil. This was easily our best meal in Croatia. We cannot recommend...
Read moreFirst of all the bread was horrible, old and tasteless, didn’t think it was possible to have such a bad bread in Croatia. We order the cold starter and it was also a dissapointment. Three tiny slices of cheese and prosciutto a squid salad that wasn’t fresh, and a tuna pate that was ok but having such a horrible bread was not worth eating. The pašticada was very basic, the sauce lacked flavor, the pasta was ok but overall not as good as others I had in Croatia for a cheaper price. Seafood rissoto was ok but nothing special. I would have given it maybe 2 or 3 stars but honestly I’m just trying to bring the score to a more realistic level that’s why the 1 star. I’m tired of seeing every fking restaurant in tourist areas having 4.3 or higher scores when they are all...
